Default Whats up with my clutch?

Ran nitrous on my 99 FRC for the first time and launched around 4k (on et streets) - seemed like the rpm stuck at 5k for awhile and then went to 6k finally, then it felt like I was spinning down the track but I know there is no way. After the run I could smell the clutch alot. My clutch was also really hard to push down after but then lightened up... I only ran a 12.3 @ 119mph

Anyone know what I should do? If I should get a new clutch what kind should I go with? I could get a spec3 for a pretty good price...

Info on the car... 12.8@114 w/o NX,73k miles, stock clutch

sounds like you simply outpowered your clutch man. and since your running 12.3's that just basicially states you have a good amout of power....so get a good quality aftermarket clutch and you won't have that problem. And yeah a spec would be a good clutch to invest into

My stock clutch is at 58k and I wasted it the other night, well at least overpowered it. I launched and the RPMs stuck at 3500 in first gear for FOREVER. Shifted 2nd it did the same crap at 5000, and again in third. I still ran a 13.5 though.

I don't think that is something to brag about...sounds like you don't know how to drive...

i don't think you would be overpowering the stock clutch with basically a stock car...unless it was already done...sounds like you should begin looking for a new one haha...
