The Z06 clutch is supposed to hold up to that kind of power...I am about to replace my Z06 clutch and go to a SPEC stage 3. I know a buddy of mine that has a cam only car that has gone through 2 Z06 clutches and finally went to a SPEC stage 3 and solved all his clutch problems. All 01-02 F body's come with Z06 clutches from the factory. You might as well buy a good clutch and not have to worry about it anymore. In my case, I have never been on anything but street radials, I baby my car, and my clutch is about to go...I would recommend to go with a beefer clutch that is going to hold. I would always go with somthing that holds more than you need IMO. Hope this helps...

The Z06 clutch will work fine in your application as long as you don't do 5K clutch dumps. If you have a street car with occasional track use, (not abuse) a Z06 clutch is cheap and very effective with the drill mod to the master cylinder.

I have a z06 clutch as we speak and the dam thing cannot hold up to my camm'd motor. Which is odd cuz before the drill mod I could run close to 500hp at the wheels and it would not flake out. BTW I looked at my stock clutch that came with the car from day 1. And that flywheel is different than the z06 one that is in my car now. So they are not standard with 01-02's.

Only some of the '01s came with the upgraded clutch. All of the '02s did.

My clutch works just fine on the "cammed" motor.

The Spec 3 is a street/strip clutch. With a good Master Cylinder and upgraded hydralics, it will hold 450RWHP without issues.

Check out the sponsors- Thunder Racing, Futral Motorsports

You will find very similar pricing at all of them.

Remember - a clutch is a wear item- I've heard of some clutches lasting 3,000 miles, the same clutch with a different driver lasting 20,000 miles.

Some sponsers say yes/no. YOU should upgrade to billet steel. IF you use factory and it is resurfaced and shimmed properly, it can work. Not highly recommended. You are spending 400+ on the clutch, do you really want to take the chance of that flywheel coming apart and trashing other parts? Do yourself a favor and buy the recommended flywheel. Sponsors are very helpful with those types of questions. If a sponsor get aggravated with "silly" questions, call someone else......

When I rebuilt my T56 at 20K miles I threw in a new Z06 clutch since I was in there. The original was still in great shape and could have been used for another 40K before it started slipping. It had 16K miles of 376rwhp+ going through it and probably 50-60 track runs. I've had no problem with the Z06 clutch holding my power levels. IMO it's the perfect street little strip clutch. PS It won't last long dumping at high rpms on sticky tires with a 400+rwhp setup.

I have the Z06 clutch and it is the best clutch I have ever driven. The Z28 is a daily driver and around town, the Z06 clutch is perfect. I would say go for it.

The factory flywheel is only good to about .030 material removed before it can start to warp. You'll probably have to machine more than that off to clean it up before a new install. Save yourself the hassle and replace the flywheel. The Z06 clutch kit comes with a new flywheel. For less than $400, you can't beat that.

Also, some people have this big thing about the flywheels being balanced with the clutch kit. I'm not sure how important that is or not, but that might be something else you'll want to take into consideration.
