Default Does a new 288 slave come pre bled?

I bought a new 288 slave/TO bearing from GM....does it come prefilled/pre-bled????

I used the Buschman method to bench bleed the M/C using the vacuum pump...its rock solid.

Will I be able to put the slave in the tranny, connect the QD and be good to go? Or will I have to now bleed the slave with the M/C?

All help appreciated...

No, its not pre bled, theres no fluid in the slave when you get a new one...I just put a new one in mine...Rebleed the slave once you hook everything up and you should be good to go...

Which method did you use to bleed once you had the new slave installed?

-Gravity?
-Conventional?
-MityVac?

It doesn't come prebled but there's also very little air in it because the piston is installed all the way back. You can use the mityvac to bleed the slave before you put the tranny in: [IMG]

How would you install the mityvac on the slave bleed fitting? There isnt a nipple or anything there....anyway...I did it the conventional way and just pumped the pedal and cracked the bleeder. Pedal feels good with the SPEC 3 in it...I guess if I have any problems with shifting, I will bleed it again or try the mityvac....if I can figure out how...

Well you don't really have room if the tranny is installed. But you would use those little black pointy fittings and stick it inside the bleeder valve.
