Default ls7 clutch too much for fairly stock ls1

hey guys. I'm getting my tranny rebuilt and i also ordering an ls7 clutch. Im wondering if the ls7 clutch is overkill on a fairly stock ls-1. Right now my supporting mods are slp lid and smooth bellows. But im planning doing full bolt-on.

No, it's not too much overkill.

what would it make a difference..you rather go overkill than half to spend close to 1k for another clutch..assuming you don't install it yourself.

Is it more expensive than an LS6 clutch? Because an LS6 is a GREAT clutch for a car with just bolt-ons. Holds great and lasts forever if you know how to drive.

If you ever hot lap your car with the stock clutch, it will slip. It's never too early to upgrade the clutch.

01ss, how is the LS7 clutch?

The clutch pedal is a little stiffer. It grabs sooner than the stock clutch. But it feels very good. No chatter at all, very smooth.
I only drove the car about 10 miles. straight home to the garage. it will be in storage until april. Minnesota winters suck.
