It Starts to jump out of 3rd the gets worse. Iam putting in a complete synchro kit from D&d And new steel shift fork. have heard the clutch may be the problem because it does not release completely and keeps pressure on the ftont of the synchro causing it to fail.

I had a problem like that, shifter wouldn't go into 3rd at high RPM's, threw my wrist back....

That was 9000 miles, and it was a cam/headers...car...making 360rwhp..

It should of never gave out, I was running a Stage 3 Kevlar Spec...

Before I even read the post, I was going to say clutch diengagement.

Get an adjustable Master cylinder and bleed the hell out of the whole hydraulic system.

Yes,3rd gear syncro(jump out)is ussually the clutch dragging and a possible shift fork problem.

ITS NOT THE CLUTCH, its the casing

put a clutch in it, and 3rd gear will still go again.

My freind had the same probelem with an 02 Z, at 3k miles he put in a Centerforce and still tore up 3rd gear 2 MORE TIMES IN THE NEXT 5,000 MILES. He finally gave up and traded it in.

Mine is going for its 2nd time, still on stock clutch.

Have them inspect the casing if you can. Tremec knows they f*cked up, but havent "formally" said anything. They will most likely try to blame it on you for "abuse", so be smart take off all the aftermarket stuff when you take it in.

Stick it to them, they're either going to give me a new trans or theyll be buying my car back.

I have 20k on my 99ss with A LOT of abuse and just within the past 400 miles I have had a synchro problem with downshifting to second gear. I would definetly try an adjustable master cylinder.

I was refferring to the actual case of the transmission. The case itself, was somehow made slightly incorrect, and throws off allignment of gears and shafts just enough that the car is drivable, but will wear itself out in a short time.

You know you have a probelem when you sit in 20 other six speed fbodys (98-00) and your stick feels pysically harder to get in, out and between gears. Its ridiculous.
