Default WHAT ARE THE SIGNS OF A BAD PILOT BEARING

I have a bad bad vibration in my car. So i thought maybe my new flywhell or clutch were not installed correctly or balanced right. So first thing i did was removed the tranny and started it up and the vibration went away. Has any one experianced this. The vibration would be there if i was driving or if i was sitting their with the clutch in. Or is it the tranny??? I put my centerforec dual friction clutch into 1000 pieces on a hard launch last summer . And a small part of me worrries i hurt the tranny.
Thanks for the input. Also how much does a new bearing cost??

Micah

apparently mine was bad, it wiped out the input shaft bearing, main shaft bearing, as well as dammaged both shafts, so i'd take a look at it, swap it out any its an $11 part.

Well, mine had all the little rollers thrown through out the bell housing. I only run pilot bushings from now on.

The bearing is made out of an outer race and an inner race with the rollers in between them. The bushing is one solid piece of bronze with a hole in it. They have been using the pilot bushing in the cars since the 40's. It can be bought at any autoparts store (autozone, O'Reiley, etc) and it only costs $2.
