I have the Pro 5.0 also and love it. One of the best mods to date. Just be sure to Loctite the hell out of all the bolts.

I had a Pro-5.0 and hated it. It would bind up in between every shift, like hitting a gate going into every gear. I called them up (Pro 5.0), and they bought it back from me - they said that it just doesn't work right with some transmissions. I just have a short stick with the stock shifter and it is fine. Just make sure whoever you buy it from has a good return policy...

My Pro 5.0 is awesome My car came with the factory Hurst and it was ok. Switched to the 5.0 and was super happy! I even sold the factory Hurst to a guy with the base stock and he was amazed at the difference between them!

I had a factory Hurst car....it was pretty vague. I switched to a Ripper (and a hurst 6 speed **** with a jam nut....it dosen't spin on hot days) and it is an amazing difference.

I had a factory hurst in mine originally, then I put a Kirban in with the hurst ****. Difference between night and day. I later drove a car with a stock non-hurst shifter in it and it was just a total POS.

the stock didnt seem too bad..

I picked up a pro 5.0 a couple weeks ago, and the difference is amazing.

My gas milage has gone down noticable, becasue the car is that much more fun to shift...

I have the factory Hurst in mine with Lou's short stick.. it is perfect. For $40 I really can't tell much of a difference between it and my buddies 5.0.

I would say.. if you have the stock Hurst.. just get a short stick and see how you like the Hurst after. My .02

It sounds like that if you arent powershifting that you dont really need an aftermaket shifter. Shorter throws would be cool though. The 2-3 shift is where the stock shifter could be better. The pro 5.0 would be good for that with the spring load.

Hey Ryan, Im surprised you get better gas milage shifting more. So much much for the skip shift theory from the factory. I pretty much use 1,4, and 6 out of lazyness.

My car came with the standard shifter (non-Hurst) and it has to be the worst shifter I've ever used. Besides being sloppy as hell and not going 2-3 for ****, it felt like a really hard shift would break the thing. Needless to say I replaced it with a Ripper after only a couple of days and the improvement was awesome. I haven't driven a Pro 5.0, but have heard its comparable. I think just about anything is better than the factory POS.

Powershifting or not, a good aftermarket shifter should be mod #1 for an M6 car (well, maybe mod #2 if you count the !CAGS ).

I had the factory hurst with a short stick and I thought that was great. Then I got the Pro 5.0 and it really is night and day between the two. Just my opinion.
