How much can a GTO T56 take power wise?

is 600 bhp far 2 much?

04-06 GTO's have a GM, MM12, T-56 rated @ 400 #-ft. So, if you're making more torque & the flywheel than 400 #-ft, you are making more torque than the MM12 is designed to take. This is not to say that you can't get away w/ it for a while. Many people make more RWT (more @ the flywheel) than this while using a stock T-56, without issue.

FYI, D&D Performance makes a GM Viper T-56, rated @ 650 #-ft..

I have read that the tranny can take 600 hp for a while, with no problems. I would worry more about the rear end...

There is a guy on tech that has a mild h/c set up, 400 wrhp, gto trans with 9" with 4.11 gears, and his has been holding up to his ridiculous amounts of street races. Pewterscreamingmachine I believe is his sn...go over to the street kills section, and you can see how many god damn races he gets, and his **** is holding up fine.

what t-56 is in the f-body then? mm 6? how much would you say a f-body t-56 can hold?

We rate our Level 2 T56 Rebuild to 700rwtq and our Level 3 above 700rwtq.

530 rwhp with 7200 rpm n2o clutch drop launch for 2 years and still no problems...2 clutches later
