Default Tuned with HP Tuners-can still go with EFI Live?

Just a quick question here, and by no means do I want to start a war.

I had my car tuned with Hp Tuners when I had the cam installed. I am going to do the head swap however, and would really like to purchase EFILive to do my own tuning. That and actually get a little drivability out of my car since I'll be able to do the data logging during normal driving conditions.

Will this work? Will I be able to pull the current HP Tuners tune and use it as my base with EFILive, or would I be stuck starting from scratch?

Short answer is maybe.

It all depends on if your tuner locked the pcm or if he applied a custom OS.

If he did either then no you will not be able to read the pcm with efilive.

Bill is correct. Can you post up or email the tune?

I can get you started on the swap over and also send you a starter tune for free for that application if you are buying EFILive thru us.

So even if you have to start over, it wont be that big of a deal.

Thank you for the help guys. Unfortuantly, I can't post anything right now as far as the tune. I'll have to get in touch with the shop that did the tune and find out if he locked it or uses a custom os.

Hey Jesse,

Would that offer be open to anyone? I need to upgrade my V1 personal to V1 Commercial and then load up a COS for a Supercharged Corvette (along with upgrading to a 2 Bar MAP sensor). If the offer is available, could you Please even show me how a RoadRunner works?

Thanks

That would be VERY COOL!

I'm from the same area as 99TransAmLS16Spd, so that trip would be WELL WORTH it to pick up some tuning tips from you and get to see first hand the power of the Road Runner!

I know that if you decide to do that, Please count me in!

Jesse, that sounds awesome! I'm new to the idea of programming obdII, some pointers could go a long way. I tuned my '91 Z using the Prominator with TunerProRT, but the OBDI stuff has a fraction of the tuning parameters of EFILive.....Not to mention the LS1 is obviously a much larger investment. Keep us up to date on when you may be interested in doing this.

I look foward to seeing you out there LuvmyC5. Than you again guys.
