Guys at my work in their mid 40's used to race there. I dont know why people still go there? I would think if you wanted to street race youd go about 30 mins. South of Orland and get down on a nice back country road , theres quite a few of them out there and much less chance of being caught.

but if you do that chances are its just gonna be you and your buddies not people showing up to race. i agree it would be better somewhere like that but its the point of getting people there to make it worth while.

So your gonna say 95% of people on ls1tech are broke, cant afford more then a 10 bolt and cant afford more then a street tire if they street race it??? Most street racers using an all season tire are either slow or drive a honda.
Doesnt sound right to me!

Most street racers just have regular all season or summer tires if their car is only for the summer. So whats your point? Me and 90% of the other f-body owners don't get traction when it gets cold out

Sorry we don't all have race-cars with a 9" and slicks so we can keep up with you fast guys when it gets cold out. I guess all us pussies just put our cars away for the winter...and the tracks close. I guess all the track owners are pussies too.... wait... that brings it to like 95% of people

Let me know.

i'd say 95% of the people on ls1tech have a 10bolt, and a street tire and if a certain vehicle were to catch them they'd floor it out on a country road, etc.

Now the people directly going out to street race might have slicks/drag radials but still are rocking the 10 bolt majority of the time. Check out a test in tune at the drag strip, most of the cars there have street tires on them too, ruining the prep for those of us with slicks

I raced one heads and cam LS1 on a bigger slick than me this year, fucked him up, and now everyone in the street racing world thinks my car is fast or has a sleeper cam & ported stock heads. It isn't that fast, nor has anything but the bone stock **** from the factory, but it's set up right for what it has. It's the guys that cry for spots from a car that is slower than them that are ruining the scene. One of the many reasons why I am "retired"

Exactly...

I never said 95% of the people on Tech are broke, I just said they have 10 bolts.... and don't care to spend the amount of money necessary to get something better. And most people who are racing on the street aren't rolling around with VHT in their trunk with a sticky tire unless their going for big money in a rediculous car. I see most street racers out there on street tires....

I've seen a ton of street racing and never seen somebody pull the VHT out. So it can't be a big percentage of them doing it.

Also, most of the times I race on the street it wasn't planned so.... again just like Steve said, a car pulls up next to you and you 2 go at it. I guess I'm not a hardcore street racer....

FWIW, I have gone 1.47 60 fts, and both 11.42 in this car, and 10.86 in my other car with a 10 bolt. I have never broken a gear or posi, I always bend the housing. It is all in how you set it up. 10 bolts have been proven to be in some very fast cars.

I agree. They need to clean up the street racing scene at Doty to serious street racers only, with real cars, not gangs looking for a fight!

Yeah it did feel good and started more and more rumors, but I could give a ****. The whole street racing scene has been done and over with for a few years. I have more fun and make more money bracet and index racing. Plus there is no whining bitches crying about how slow their cars are. It is a win win situation.

Werd, 10 bolts hold up pretty good in the auto cars, I've managed to go back to back 1.50 60's with my old 10 bolt with no issues.

Ive seen a few videos posted of people out with 11-12 second cars in colder weather than this. Guess it depends on if the road is salt free and you really want to race or not.
