Darren = 11.64 @121 1.73 60 ft 6 speed 383/heads/cam 9 inch/gears
Nate = 11.69 @ 122 1.7x 60 ft auto 347 cam only stock 10 bolt
Did Joe work harder on one of these cars than the other????????
Darren, do you think the extra weight and unfavorable pinion angle of the 9 inch is sapping some power and hurting 1/4 mile times and ET? I bet if you can get a 28 in slick and dump it at 5000 rpm youll get low 11's at 124 mph. Joe is right, a th400 would be ideal for your car, and not have to mess with the clutch issues. Stick the real cam back in it, I imagine Joe picked out your cam to be good on nitrous, but the LPE cam seems pretty nice NA.

Weight should'nt be an issue with the rearend....lighter than the 12 bolt by far, the configuration of the 9" vs the 12 bolt could be. I don't think the 16" rims with 26" tires helped(although I apprecite Jeff letting me barrow them). 28" will be the tire size of choice with 15x10 rims @ some point.
I wish I had the cash to do an auto swap....not going to happen though.
The GT1-1 definetly pulled harder on the big end and better NA, this current cam is better down low and mid-range...needs the Nitrous.

You need a driver for that LTX when you take both cars to Muncie? I'm not scared!

Darren,
Why not get a smart controller (FJO or similar) and set it and your shift points a little before your "true" redline? If you miss a shift, the spray will go away, even if your foot stays on the pedal.

I know this is an ironic statement from a guy who blew up his car...
But if you spent the money for all the right parts, why not use them? If you're afraid of the car, it tends to sap all the fun right out of it. I'd say either sell the thing, or use it to the fullest extent possible.
That car on the juice should seriously move out. It's already damn pretty, now prove it's damn fast too.![Winky](https://ls1tech.com/forums/images/smilies/LS1Tech/gr_wink.gif)
Just my opinoin anywho.
