LOL yeah it really isn't, but the kicker is I wasn't even launching that hard. Between my tires and the track being prepped better than I have ever seen at muncie I figured it wouldn't last long. Only launched at about 2300-2500rpm. Not even close to the turbo being spooled up. The one good run I had was 11.80 at 126mph.

What is this i hear, Muncie and great track prep in the same sentence? I have damn near gave up on that hole. Last time there they had great track prep just after the burn out box and before the staging lights. Just nothing after the lights.

9 in, is kind of overkill isnt it? Pinion angle will be hell with that in the wheelbase of a pickup I bet! Be sure to check all the geometry before launching it! 11.8 is kick *** !! 126 might be good for 11.5 I would imagine on a good launch. I think an 8.8 would be a lot better option, smaller, lighter, easy to modify cheaply....

Pinion angle is adjustable if you're custom fabricating an axle...
Not everyone runs under spec'd stuff and hopes for the best you know.

I think there 26" long so if a camaro is 26" then they weould work. I already have the carrier out of ls1 camaro in it. I would rather do the 9" right the first time since a few years down the road I plan on a fully forged bottom end with 25psi
Properly built 8.8 have gone 8's all day long in MANY mustangs....probably enough for a 11 second truck! If you allready have the 9 in I can see that, but it is heavier by far! I do think the camaro axle will work to get it running.
Underspec'd worked pretty well in my old camaro, simple mods and SEVERAL low low 10 second runs by me and Massey with no issues in the mostly stock 10 bolt.

Oh, no argument on the 8.8, I think it'd be fine also.
The 9" is definitely heavier, and costs some power, no argument. His truck could use some weight out back though. It's nice to replace a part and not have to worry about it in the future. FWIW, I've got an 8.8 IRS going in the RX7.
That 10 bolt in the Camaro is running on luck or dead baby juice of whatever weird juju you placed on it. Regardless, it wouldn't be alive if that car was a stick, which J-Rod's truck is.

What has two thumbs and got a driving award tonight?
This guy!
Best part? 3 seconds before I get clocked, I turn to Nick and say (verbatim):
"I need to slow down through here, I'm going to get popped"
1...
2...
3...
City cop in an SUV. Whoops. 55 in a 40. Not too bad. At least the cop was cool about it. At least he didn't hit me 5 seconds earlier when I was doing 65+.

speaking of that, have you had a chance to call pat yet? he keeps asking me what kind of time table you're working with and whatnot, and i don't have the answers for him. definitely make sure that he knows you're a friend of mine because i can't remember if i ever told him your name. anyways, he seems anxious to get working on it, so if you haven't called him yet, i would try to do it soon.

Well, after ~30 hours of labor this weekend, Nick got my motor put together and I got the turbo kit ready for someone who doesn't blow at welding to finish it up. The downpipe looks hilarious...
Lingy's did a great job on the machine work on the block, they were within .000x on most of the clearances. Verrrry nice.
Thanks again to Nick (Beast), Drew and Bob at EPP, Ryan at Lingenfelter and JPH for a disturbingly good knowledge of torque specs off the top of his head.
If all goes well, I should have it out for break-in next weekend. Woohoo.
