I knew it was a Reserve unit but thought you had gone to the Actives, nice to be close to home at least! Tell Doug Perry hi if you see him. I think he is a Maj or Lt Col now. I worked with him in the Weapons shop up here at the Guard unit.

Nope, I will be a traditional Reservist, however they have told me I will be almost full time status most of the time. I don't know a lot of people in the unit yet because I haven't been there hardly at all. But I will make sure to tell Doug Perry "Hi" for you.

Anybody have recommendations for a really good fence contractor? I need about 500 ft of ornamental aluminum/iron fence installed. If it didn't need to be perfect I'd do it myself.
Something like this.

R&C Fence on Engle Road. Great quality work, but they are pricey.

I know R&Cs main competitor is Gleave Construction. Might try them.

I work for a high end home builder, and we typically go through either Arrow Fence or R&C. Regardless of who does the install, make sure you go with Ultra Aluminum Fence brand http://www.ultrafence.com

Gleave is who I got the quote from and it was more reasonable than I thought. They seem like good people. Nick I took a look at Ultra Fence it is a little more heave duty material than what I was looking at which is good when you have a bunch of monsters, thanks.

J-Rod,

Yes, I'm alive, just been busy. Was trying to get my car done up and sorted before fall came, but no luck.

Ben,

I can scan your car when you get back in town if you want. It felt pretty well behaved when I drove it and I'm pretty good at picking up on problems.

Oh, I'm building an LT1 car right now.

Well turned out to have great weather today for a track rental. Made a PB 60' of 1.58 and fried the transmission in the process. It will not move in any gear. Clutch feels great and it shifts into all gears, but will not go anywhere. I have a feeling it never was right since it was built so it really doesn't surprise me. Time to learn how to build transmissions since you can't trust anyone to do anything right.

It's an 88 RX7 Turbo II.

Here's how I received it:

And progress so far:

There's quite a few RX-7 builds out there. As much as I love my LT1, I would probably rather do something more along the lines of what Nick is doing though if I had an RX-7 to play with.

The progress looks good though. Is he leaving the LT1 N/A?

Sweet!

On another note, how is your RX-7? I haven't heard much about it in a while. Is it all dialed in yet?
