Default Lincolnwood is under water.

Holy ****, where'd all this rain come from? I thought the left-overs of the hurricane wasn't due to hit Chicago till tomorrow?

I94 seems to be flooded at Pratt, and I can't get out of my driveway for all the standing water. There were a couple people that tried to drive down my street, they had no luck. One car flooded and it's just sitting there now.

Last time it rained this much in a short period was August of 2001. I didn't have flood control then, and I got fu(ked badly with water. This time though, the basement is nice and dry

Looks like I won't be leaving the house today.

.

Wife is out of town, so I stayed at shop working on stuff. Tried to go from RT 66 area to Orland.
Man, roads closed everywhere. Took the big daddy 4 wheel drive just in case.
Didn't need, but every creek, retention pond, and low spot is flooded that I passed.

Good lord man... Looks like you now have a river front shop Vince!

We have about 5" standing in the backyard, and back half of our garage here. Nothing in the front half tho... its raised.

Almost ready to trade the TA for a boat tho.

LOL that's funny. River front property. I guess our taxes might go up if that were the case. This is the third time I have ever seen water this high here. I find it kind of humorous to see the idiots drive threw it. Chuck said that there have been 6 that have had to be towed out of the FLT river today! I'm staying in today making chicken enchiladas and watching CLTV for weather updates across the country. Everyone stay safe. Vince

I've only seen this much water in this area twice before as well. Here's some pics from in front of my house. This is the second car to get stranded. I'm stuck here now, none of my cars are high enough to clear the water:

I left a cup in the pipe guarding my overhead entrance. It has 4" of water in it already.
I'm telling you, everything is flooded bad. I can't even imagine what it will be like mon or tue
if that hurricane makes it this far????

yea i can't say i've seen this much flooding around my area more than 2 or 2 other times. i'm gonna drive around in a lil bit and try to take some pics of the flooded roads. i love watching people think that thye can get through a flooded road only to flood their car.

I spent about 10 minutes and tried 4 different routes to get out of my subdivision today to go to work, everything was flooded with rushing water like you would see in the Wildest Videos shows. When I got to work, we had 3 cars towed in with the same complaint, "drove through puddle and engine stalled" NO ****! Soaking wet air filters are a pretty good indication of a bent rod! That is why I am laughing my *** off at the last picture from Vince's FLT River, that is a new S-Class floating right along, I'm sure I'll be seeing that car on Monday.

BTW, the North Branch of the Chicago River at Goose Island, rose about 6-7 feet from yesterday to today when I left, so there may not be a dealer for that S-Class to be towed to on Monday anymore, we are only about 6 feet above the water mark as of 5pm today!

I heard over 6 inches fell near O'hare. Also the Des Plaines river is supposed to be at record setting levels. If that were not enough, theres supposed to be even more rain tomorrow. Im turning my Z into a pontoon. Thats the only way Ill be getting any where tomorrow.

Were getting record rain right now. I just finished fixing the sump pump, and now the dame thing is running nonstop. Ill deal with that than having a flooded basement.

It sucks, I'm frigging tired of eating peanut butter. Getting a lot of work done, but I would rather be out racing.
Today the damn hurricane is going to come through, on top of what we already have. It's not going to be pretty tomorrow!!
Be safe everyone.
