Default Iraqi Dinar

Had anybody been buying up any of the Iraqi Dinar..I know back in '04 when I was at LSA Annaconda in Balad they were selling it and guys were buying millions worth at a time, and still are to this date. What do you guys think about it, will it ever turn like the Kuwaiti Dinar did...

i think that the biggest problem you would have is not the value changing just the currency not being accepted since things are so unstable there just like you cant use the old sadam dinar and what not cuz its worthless but i suppose anything is possible. cant be worth much i was giving out thousands of dollars worth of dinar not too long ago paying for projects

The biggest concerns I have are that if they start making their own new currency, this old dinar will be worthless. Or, IF it does go up, there's only going to be so much money out there to trade these in for..if you're not one of the first ones to swap it over, you have nothing but souveniers.

I'd keep at least one each of all the bills you have and one each of the coins. Otherwise, go to your local-est international airport and exchange the foreign to American. I still have examples of Won, Riyals, and Dinars.

I bought 675,000 Iraqi Dinar when I was there back in 04'... since then I've made some profit off of it...I forgot how much. Its a risky investment.. if Iraq does anything like Kuwait or UAE I'll be fat stupid and happy.

I know what you mean. I think the going rate is around $850 for a million dollars worth. I think Kuwait went up 4:1 back in the 90s or whenever. A guy here that I work with in Kuwait knew 2 brothers that bought about 10 million worth back then and ended up with 40 million each after it flipped. Not too shabby.

Wholey ****.. thats pretty good! Yeah I think the 675,000 cost me $500 and some change. So $850 sounds bout right. I thought about buying more but eh.. not too sure. I used to have an exel spread sheet with forumla's that'd tell me how much I'd make with every penny and a forum for more info but I erased the e mail way back when. There were a few guys in my shop that bought a million dinar.. here in another 10 years we'll see what happens. I heard Iraq wants to build up the green zone and eventually when the insurgency is crushed in the north and things get better it'll turn around.. especially with the amount of oil Iraq has.. I beleive they have the worlds third largest reserves if I'm not mistaken.

You could do like my buddy did and tell some escorts its kuwaiti dinar and use it to pay them... I think he paid 2 of them about 1500 dinar for 4 hours or so.... pretty awesome if you ask me... lol
