With that amount of experience dont expect to be making the kind of crazy money you hear talked about. If you were more in my line of work I could give you more help but I dont know to much for a 11B. Sorry I cant be more help.

Go to GDLS.com and click on careers. Look for the Iraq region and click search. Since you're at FOB Warhorse, I think you might be with 3/2 SBCT out of Ft. Lewis. The positions for Maintenance Mechanic means you will be working on Strykers or repairing FUPPs. Being a former Stryker soldier will give you kudo points on the interview. It did for me. I used to be with the 172nd when they were a Stryker brigade in the Infantry. I just got back from doing a year in Iraq as a contractor and made $155k. I am looking at the website now and I see four open positions. PM me if you have any more questions.

There is alot of hiring going on down here in Kuwait. Working on MRAPs. Trying to think of who all we have at the shop. It's about 1/4 mile long with about 200 trucks in it. We have Force Protection, SAIC, VSE, Ranger Land, Osh Kosh...probably some more I'm forgetting. I'm DOD and we do 16hrs a day, 7 days a week. I'll gross over 200k this year before taxes. All the contractors stay in Kuwait City either in apartments or at the Hilton or Holiday Inn. We're stuck on Arifjan.
