Umm..............The only M2 I know of is the .50 cal Browning heavy machine gun. There is no offhand on it since it has a butterfly trigger and no stock. You sit behind it with it either on a tripod mount or a pintle mount on a vehicle. If you are referring to the M9 9mm Beretta, then yes, I have, and it is no different than usual. Same thing with the M16/M4. Hope this helps.

do you possibly mean free gun? as in your not using the T&E. used to quickly engage targets. very much less accurate and you loose the tightness of your beating zone.

no im refering to an M2. offhand maynot be the correct term for it but its the term i have heard people use. I wasnt sure if more people use that term or not.

im refiering to firing the M2 without a T&E or tripod or any kind of mount. you are holding the gun. It dosnt suprise me that there is no term for firing it this way since it is really is not done lol

I got the fire the SASR once but they didnt want to let me fire it froma standing position. I was very unimpressed withthe SASR froma quality point of view. it looked like cheap junk. It worked well though.

Probably not, the whole weapon gets really hot when you're firing it for any length of time. Plus the whole thing weighs about 100+ lbs. If you can lift that up and aim it, you're the man.

I believe the term "offhand" is another way to say the standing postion when using a rifle.

And your a betterman than me if you can do that with the M2 .50 cal.

I dont think firing the m2 is possible that way. cause you would have to hold it really far back. and you wouldent be able to balance it. ovbiously you cant hold the barell. but it is possible that i am wrong. I did use a m2 for a year in iraq and there wasent any chance in he!! i was going to just hold it and fire it.

Absolutely impossible to do so. An ~80 pound gun with no stock and no semblance of a foregrip? Even He-man couldn't do it. Plus it would kick itself right out of your hands, or take you to the ground with it. I don't even want to think about someone trying that on full auto. Bad things waiting to happen. I also highly doubt you could fire it by laying it on a fence or wall or something to hold it up. The thing would jump around like a drunken frog.

Only time I fired the M2 without the T&E (pintle?) engaged (this would be on a tripod) the 5 or 6 rounds scattered everywhere - 500 to 1500 yds or so and +/- 15-20 degrees of deflection

Shot 240G's and M249's at Quantico on Tuesday. If a belt-fed weapon doesn't give you a booner, either your not a real man or your gay.

Nope, It is possible, I know someone who has done it. Of course it is a single shot deal and there is no way to aim it. you put on your sholders behind your head facing from your left to right (or the opposite).
you can support the barrel with one hand and fire with the other.
Plus it would kick itself right out of your hands, or take you to the ground with it.
it does that to allot of people who try it.

Ok, If you know someone who has tried it. Slap the **** out of them. That is the most retarted thing I have ever heard of. Who was the RSO at that range? I guess that's what you call Darwin. If that guy keeps doing stupid **** like that. He ain't gonna be living much longer.
