Not ashamed to say I didn't build my cars. I did/do work on them and mod them further though. I wouldn't mind building a car myself but then i look at the price all those mods cost vs. the cost I got the modded car for and I feel just fine about what I did.

Woo my new ride made it in the Sept Issue.

Never said there was, I was contradicting the guy that was being a dick about shop built cars. Buying an already modded car from a private party is a different subject altogether but does save a ton of money and nothing wrong with it either.

Well mine was bought from a private party who had it shop built, haha. I know you were just pointing out the other guy was being a dick, I was just adding on. A lot of people like to get up on their high horse because it makes them feel better - I don't really care about how a car was built I still appreciate it. I don't even mind if people don't ever turn a wrench on their own car (although I love to do it), it's their car and they can handle it how they want as long as they take care of it!

anyway, back to the numerous beautiful cars in the thread!

Ya thats what I was getting at, wrenching isnt required to appreciate a car. Thats the funnest part for me personally, but I dont tout it over others like some do.

I feel that my 2002 Trans Am is worthy of some ink in GM High-Tech and I have a great story to go along with the car also. I would love an opportunity to get my car in your magazine and will meet your anywhere at any time to make this happen. The car currently has ran a 10.6 @ 130 mph in the 1/4 mile in high humidity and 87*. I pride myself on always driving my car anywhere I want to go, it has never seen a trailer in the 5 years I've owned it. Its a true street car and has a very budget build that I think is a great recipe for speed and reliability that's an inspiration to anyone else with an ls1 car. The car dyno'd just under 600 RWHP through the stalled 4l60e transmission and I did ALL the work to this car my self in my own garage (with the exception of tuning).

since those pics the front springs have been lowered 1.5"

engine bay

Pics and Video of the 10.6 pass

I've attended EVERY LSX shootout and had my car in the shootouts car shows every year since LSX shootout 2. After owning nothing but Ford trucks I attended the first LSX shootout in Memphis in 2007, I was hooked. One month later I bought my 2002 WS6 with 16,000 miles and 100% stock. The first modification I made was a 100hp wet shot of nitrous and shortly after were some drag radials. Long story short, 8 months later a rod went through the block, so I picked up a budget short block from Scoggin Dickey. The new ls6 block had a stock crank and forged rods and pistons, I picked up a MS3 camshaft, added headers and a Y pipe, 3,800 stall, upped the nitrous to a 225 hp shot, and the car has ran flawlessly for the past 3 years. I more recently added 3.90 gears, an electric cutout, quite a few suspension components, and the Billet Specialties wheels. The car currently is at 34,000 miles and is about as flawless as a 4th gen F-body can get. With roughly $7,000 in performance parts in the car (counting the short block) I am extremely pleased with my full weight car that still has A/C and the factory 12 disc changer!
