Had to post this, got called out by a "drag racing legend" and.... Nearly got beat....lol, sorry, it wasn't even close.
Backstory: We went to the 1/8 mile track last night mainly to just **** around. I took my SS, which is my slower more stock vehicle. Its gotta weigh 3800-3900 with my big *** in it, fully loaded, bolt ons, spray, etc. Nice car, but not extremely quick. Anyway, I drive it in and my buddy starts telling me about this kid who introduced himself as "ghostrider" (yes, I'm serious, he called himself that). He said he is a "drag racing legend". Now, his car is a 99.9% bone stock LT1 Z28. No DR's, no headers, nothing. He proceeds to tell us it has a "C5R" motor and is heavily modified. He said it does 0-60 in 2.6 seconds. Now, this whole time I'm trying not to laugh because he's looking at me, and my buddies are about to crack up, making it worse. So he challenges me to a race, which I immediately accept and ask how much we are racing for. Apparently being a "drag racing legend" doesn't pay well, because "Ghostrider" is flat broke. He even shows us his empty wallet. I agree to run him for fun. Thinking the pain of listening to this asshat is over, he proceeds to explain to me that I should leave on the last yellow "just so I have a chance". Then he says "By the way, that beast over there (pointing to his POS car)....she ain't stock."
Finally he walks away and makes a pass, running a 9.8x IIRC. After his pass he pulls up and asks if I'm ready to run. I said "Sure" and got in my car. Now, this is my first ever pass in this car (I bought it a couple weeks ago), so I didn't leave super hard. As we pull onto the track, and I'm not making this **** up, he looks over at me and points his finger at me and then points it down, as if to say "you're going down". His Mom (in the passenger seat) makes no motions to me. Yes, he raced me with his MOM in the car.

Oh, and after the race (which I won by over 2.3 seconds) he pulls up and says I only beat him because I had the jump on him. I got him by 1/10 off the line. Holeshot victory! His mom said "I thought he left good, but I looked up and you were gone!"
Oh, and this was on motor. I didn't even spray him.

That was great. Even some of the local guys who go there every weekend were making fun of him. One of them even called him a retard. TS6 I told you that you should have tried to bang his mom that night. That would have been the perfect ending, Ghost rider loses, and then has to listen to his mom getting reamed all night.
