Default Watch my 02 evolve into a turbo beast :-D

Here are some drag clips of my 02 Trans Am... purchased as a bone stock 02 M6 TA, it's retained NOTHING but the 6 speed in its evolution from a stock street car, to a 10 second nitrous/stock shortblock daily driver, to currently a 10 second PT88 Turbocharged Drag Car (last clip in video) and on to the future, when I really crank up the boost and change the turbo kit majorly.. Will plan on 1300 HP when I get back from Iraq, just waiting to install the PT101, PT3000, and fab my new cold side and DP

Yes, Indeed you did.... I originally built the motor to handle excess of 1200 Horsepower.. However the super Awesome "custom" turbo kit I had Pro Turbo Kits build me... well it was not awesome at all and anything but custom.. spent 7k for their off the shelf kit 1/2 complete .. got ripped off and they went out of buisness. So Unfortunately things had to be downsized... SIGNIFICANTLY

http://www.cardomain.com/id/z28boysteve
Right now the car is running a PT88 at 10 PSI through a tiny 2 1/2" charge pipe, has a HORRIBLY inneffective A2W intercooler, and exhales through a 3" Downpipe! I hurriedly assembled it before my deployment here to Iraq and the best it net me was an almost exact same as my previous best... a 10.82 @ 129.....

The NEW setup I am making the turbo kit myself.... except for the hot side which I will merely modify to offset the turbo slightly and attach a T6 Flange for the 101... Then I will add a 4 1/2" x 15" long dump "tube" .. The Cold side will be 4" Back through the firewall, into a PT3000 Intercooler and Back to the TB...I will also be upgrading from a 2 gallon Jaz cell in the front of the car to a 10 Gallon In the Truck Water-Ice cell.

Currently the car makes JUST at 700HP (600RWHP)..at 10 PSI, with a horribly messed up turbo kit, on a puny PT88, with 180 air intake temps because this Air to Water works so horribly bad!

I will be looking forward to 40 degree Air Intake Temps, a Restriction-free 4" Cold Side and 4 1/2" DP, a PT101, and UP TO 20 PSI of boost, if that's what it takes to get my car north of my 1200 HP goal, if it takes less to get there..... I will run less......

1200 could put you in the 8's, you won't need a 101 to do that. Mighty Mouse is in the 8's with a PT88 T4

2.5" charge pipe isn't "puny", my truck kit from KYTP is 2.5" and it'll take me VERY far lol. 3" piping from turbo to intercooler though

you also "shouldn't" need 20psi, people are in the 9's depending on motor, suspension and tranny set up with less

I see you are a M6 guy, it's gonna be an expensive build with a stick, my $750 TH400 will take anything under 1k and keep going with much more consistency... something to consider bro

looks like a killer set up, just fix your issues and it'll fly

I realize the Stick is going to hold me back immensely... But I had one goal in mind going into the build, and that was to eventually be the word's fastest 6 speed Fbody, That's a pretty tall order now adays since the record is 8.50s I might believe. The car has been, and is getting built, 100% by myself with nothing but the 6 speed in mind. Liberty's Gears is going through the 6 speed, ill be running a Spec street twin or like cluch, I will be upgrading from my 3" steel pretzel to a 4" Chromoly Mark williams unit, and I have a Moser Aluminum center with every option, spool, and 40 spline axles w/ 5/8" wheel studs standing by to replace my stock ford center that blew apart on me. The PT101 and PT3000 are also standing by.. already got em and I got the room to shoehorn it in, I might as well use em! The 6 speed fbody record is something I want VERY badly and now that I've got the equipment to do it. All it will take now is time and tons of tweaking, tuning, and maintenance

and oh yes, once Im finished, fresh paint!!

Who will sponsor me? lol

Im not changing anything except the turbo, the DP, the entire cold side, and the intercooler, then, a less mild tune and more boost. The shortblock will remain a 402 LQ9 8.6:1 all forged turbo motor I built. It will take the beating... I hope!

An idea of what the near future holds ;-)

180 degree intake temps ??? NOT WITH THIS :-D

Now I just got to get about $2k worth of aluminum pipe, couplers, and t-bolt clamps... and come back from Iraq to get it all in motion, oh that and fix the car! (check out the pics in my profile)
