Default Our tuner Dan Millen racing in Qatar Video

Here is some footage from our tuner Dan's trip to race in Doha, Qatar. He was invited by the Sheikh to race in Arabian Drag Racing League at the Qatar Race Club held in Doha, Qatar. He set a record right off the plane running 4.24 @ 183 mph and ended up with a victory for round 5 of their series!

Very nice...I was deployed there in '08 and was able to get my license. I went downtown about once a week and thoroughly enjoyed every minute of it. Unfortunately, we weren't allowed to go to the track, but there is a lot of really neat stuff to do and see in Doha. That had to have been a fun experience for him!

Very badass vid. I'm not asking for real specifics on the combo, but is this still a sub 400ci SBF in the car? I've just enjoyed following your's and dan's progress over the years (the car was the reason I became a fan of 10.5 racing) and seeing it do what it does usually using half the motor of Lynch always amazes me.

It's a Livernois built 410ci SBF with a single 106mm turbo and a clutch His car isn't set up for 1/8th mile racing, so it was great to see it running as quick or quicker than the cars that are.

Yeah I saw the 4.22 in one of the testing runs and was just like damn. You guys really have the combo figured out. I'm sure this year in the 1/4 you will see some 6.5's and hopefully a 6.4.

Any chance of you guys making the ADRL event here in houston in march?

I'm sure it would go 6.50's and like you said maybe a 6.40. Well..... someone liked the car over there and Dan sold it.

Damn the guys over there are buying up all the good race cars here lol. Time to build up that same combo again and stick it in a prostock chassis and go chase down extreme 10.5 records!!

I've been noticing more and more videos coming from the Middle East. Nice to see other parts of the world sharing our passion of going fast.

I think a 6.39 is possible with that car at 2,800lbs...with Dan driving it.
That thing is wicked, particularly because of the setup. Guys with 900 cubes and 6 kits can't keep up.

You would think the nitrous cars would be fairly competative especially considering the weight break they recieve but they seem to always lag behind a bit. I love nitrous cars because they seem a little more grassroots, i.e. the underdog, but you really just cannot deny the appeal to turbo cars. Doing that with 410ci. is a feat within itself.

A couple of years ago the nitrous cars were very competitive. Now though the turbo cars took off again. Only nitrous car on 10.5's I can think of that could run nose to nose with MIllen or Lynch is Billy Glidden's old XTF GTO. I say old because he's running a new mustang this year.

Yeah, you would think so. There's only one guy who really figured nitrous out enough to compete and to beat the turbo cars...Billy Glidden.

Reminds me of a trip downtown to the Villagio Mall. As we were walking in, we saw a Mercedes McLaren SLR with a custom flat gold paint job parked literally 10 feet from the front entrance. It was just sitting on the sidewalk....the funniest part was that it had a parking ticket on the front windshield!

Yep no doubt, Glidden is the man for sure. I can't wait to see Glidden's new mustang for XTF this year. I really think though that if Livernois and Millen built a car for XTF it would be a top contender. But this year should be good. We'll see if Ulsch can pick up where he left off.

I'll bet one of them takes it on to the highway and tries to drift it.

Jeff Naiser does pretty good with nitrous builds as well.

Just curious, How many 1/4 mile (or 1/8 mile) runs do you see before you tear into the engine?
