Those choppers are pesky... They generally stick around 1000ft or more, and its pretty hard to see or hear them...especially on a sunny day depending on the angle.
My GF is the camera person for a local new station's helicopter, so Ive gotten my fair shair of rides. And the cameras can make things look a LOT closer than they actually are. And the local police chopper have even more advanced cameras. Can be a mile away and get footage that looks like it was taken from 100ft.
Sneaky sneaky...
I got nabbed by a chopper on the highway once. Speed trap, in between the signs that say "speed limit enforced by aircraft". You know..the signs that you usually laugh at and say yeah right? Sure enough, when I was on the side of the highway the officer pointed up and there was the floating spec. No sound...tiny tiny speck.... Verrrrry sneaky... haha

they werent gonna harm anyone else, so i hope they got less strict fines since they were being "somewhat" safe about it. but thats still fucked up. id be pissed, but id laugh at myself for that one.
it says "NE state patrol" which would be nebraska, right? out in the boonies, they take video from choppers looking for people growing weed, i think use that flir. so i bet thats what this was doing, but found these two.

Close... Ive gotten caught on the PA TPK plenty of times. Usually by state cops, and they have almost always been really cool.
The time I got nabbed by the chopper was on the RT 30 bypass. Around the exton area. I only got a "failure to obey traffic control devices" or something like that. No points, fine... Done and done..luckily.
I agree..looks like they were on a private lane. I wonder if they had permission. Im sure its still frowned upon. Im sure if I launched at the bottom of my driveway and sped up it enough times the cops would have a problem.

seriously?! A f$%king helicopter? I try to have respect for law enforcement but am constantly puzzled that they feel the insane amount of cash it costs to use a police helicopter is best suited finding illegal street racing in an empty patch of road..not drug busts, not actual criminals...Americas police: difference makers!!!
