got some new bests. i swapped transmissions and converters with a friend of mine who is selling his car. now i have a performabuilt level 2 4l60e and a fti~3200rpm converter. i also got some larger tires on there. 255/50/16 mt dr's.
first run i got a 12.67@107 with a 1.77 60'. stock ls1, no headers, full exhaust. this was the only na run i made. 30mph head wind and about 80deg out.
next run was a 100shot right off the line. 11.29@117 with a 1.56 60'. they told me to slow it down.
next run was a 125shot right off the line. 11.22@120 with a 1.55 60'. they nicely told me i was done for the day and i needed to get a roll bar.
plan is to boost it but that wont be for awhile. short term plans include getting a matching set of rims where i can run the 255/50/16 tires all the time and maybe a mild cam. thinking th rpf1 wheels, drop some weight and look cool.
oh yeah, stock irs, driveshaft, axles, and lexus fuel pump.

Your my new hero bro! I can't wait to put this LS6 in mine with my spray! You are the only person I've seen spray an LSX in a swap IS300 so far. I knew it would wake it up even more. Those are some pretty good 60' times for such a light rear little car with an IRS and 255 street tires with a 450+ rwhp V8. What gears are you running?

I read your build thread and your also the only one I've seen so far be able to shove a 4L60 in there. I didn't think there was any way to make it fit in the IS's narrow little tunnel without some MAJOR modifications and certainly didn't think you would be able to keep the stock console to boot. You got some killer deals on both of those cars that made this build possible. I wish I could find some deals like that around here that weren't total pieces of ****. I paid $10k for my '02 IS300 last year, but it only had 85k miles and was a one-owner car. Maybe I should buy a cheaper one before I hack this one all up, lol.

i am real happy that i was able to get the stock shifter to work. all of the detents are right where they should be. only issue is i can not manualy shift it into 1st since there is no detent for that.
the car was cheap(for an is) but it is no show car. i am ok with that, just means i can drive it more and not worry about it.

no, car came lowered a bit. not sure what is under there but they are not adjustable.
i ended up shimming up the rear shocks a little to get me more room for the drag radials. i also rolled the fenders. when i get some rims i will get something with a little more offset to tuck the tires better. or would that be less offset?

Yeah, I figure they weren't stock springs & shocks since I've heard that when you swap in an LSX, the car sits up higher in the front on the stock suspension since the aluminum motor is so much lighter.
What diameter & width wheels did you put those 255 DR's on? I was kinda wondering if a 15" drag wheel would clear the stock calipers. I know for sure a 16" will though, but those are tough to find and harder to find tires for too.
Also, I was looking at your build pics and was wondering if you just welded solid motor mounts into the old k-member or if you made some to work with the stock mounting position like Dedicated Matt did. He had to change out the radiator and overflow tank though because the motor was so close up there, which you didn't have to because yours was set further back.

rims are 16" x 7" i think. 15" would be tuff but maybe the right 15" would fit.
i just welded perches onto the stock k member and bolted to the perches. my set up is not quite as refined as matts. i plan on making a ton of power some day and dont want things moving around.

Some guys on the IS forum are recommending using stock FD RX-7 wheels for drag wheels. They are 16x8" 5 spokes that clear everything pretty good, only weigh about 17 lbs each, and can be found for around $100 or less a piece.
