Default 96 LT1 weight reduction car..pics

Nothing really, just thought id throw up some pics of the car. Its a 1996 LT1 car 206kmiles. True duals done by blake at 417motorsports, long tubes. A/C,power steering, EGR gone, pretty much anything that i dont really haft to have has came off the car. Its a TH350 3800stall to

Without me and 1/2 tank of fuel,just under #3000. Its like 2994 or somthing. I still have the stock K-Member and control arms though so im hoping to drop off of that in a few weeks.

Yeah i still can trim some fat off her...

Its everyday driver my only car.

Yeah i just moved to OKC....and it rains just about everyother day here. I did clean it up monday night.....And broke a sideskirt on a piston i think.

My car is no better lol... so don't get angry, I'm in the same boat.

i bet that makes for a loud ride with no sound deadening material in there.

How are you driving it daily without the alternator? Nice job though! I am interested in how light I can get mine.

Yep drive it every day. Its pretty loud but not to bad its worse since the TH350 and converter since it stays in the converter most of the time on the highway.

Alt is still there it has a low mount kit from thunder racing(see the very first motor pic) I have been driving it with the DR's and skinnies for about 6mos now.

Oh OK. Couple of suggestions. You can get a fiberglass hood. The they weigh between 20 and 13 lbs. Also what about a dry cell battery?

BTW what is your complete list of weight reduction items. Just wanting to compare

12.50 to 12.30's on the motor(Keep in mind motor is bone stock and has over 200k on it) And after this weekend its got a rattle in the bottom end so im doing a LS1 swap. And selling the complete LT1 and wiring and PCM.

Hood is on order from VFN, so is a lexan rear glass.
