lol that lightning got DRUG in that last vid.....although the '99 and '00 lightnings sucked(360hp), I would only buy the '01 and up models(380hp)

Alot of the difference in a 99-00 vs 01-04 can be made up with aftermarket stuff you would change anyway, like airbox, maf, etc etc. The big thing seems to be 3.73's and aluminum ds vs 3.55's and steel ds.

Although my buddy did pick up some in his 02 L by swapping down to a 3.55 but his truck is alotttttttttttttttttttttttt faster than a stocker

The 99-00 vs. 01-04 L's comes out to hardly any difference. To give a comparison, I had an 02, and my buddy had a 00. We both had weld in flows and KN filters. I weigh approx. 30-40 1bs more than him and I only ran .04 quiker than him in the 1/8th. Both with similar reaction times. The only thing that would warrant buying a newer one would be as mentioned the 3.73's, and subtle styling changes the 01+ trucks have. Nice vids to the OP, but Im curious why the L ran the Cobra from a roll? Should have done a dig race like with the 5.0.

They ran from a roll because the Lightning didnt have a prayer from a stop, even on the 5.0 race, he is pedaling it, thats why they are kind of close, then he just runs away. That wouldnt have worked with the Cobra. They probably would have done a dig race though if the Cobra hadnt broke the transmission.

Cobra now has a Procharger and a non broken transmission.

I think in a 1/4 mile race it would be close, with a driver and tires the GT would probably run off on you butttttttt we know there aint no driver in the GT haha. It would be a good one. You would get out even further than you did from the 20 roll and he would have alotttttt of ground to make up.
