Default Vert. C6 Z06?!

Saw this in Long beach the other night. Was in total disbelief. EVER little detail matched a Z06 aside form the soft top. Still had dealer plates on it too. Sorry for the crappy pics but it was really dark in the lot for a camera phone.

If I can see that it's got an LS7 in it, then I'll believe it.

THere was a guy that had one (or I believe two) z06 converted into convertibles. I remember reading about it on here or the corvette forum a few months back.

Might have been one then. I don't see a dealer wasting the money on converting a vert. C6 into a look-a-like Z06. All ext. parts at least is what i saw.

Thats a Z, Check out the flared fenders. Plus, the callipers are the Big boys that are only put on the Z. Im willing to bet that somehow this guy got a Z convertable. Love the color.

It is very easy to get a hold of those wider rear fenders as well as the z06 brake package. Just because that is on there does not make it a z06. I would have a hard time believing that GM made a convertible z06.

I would have camped out by it and waited for the owner Then interogated him until he popped the hood and look the engine over. That would be a SWEET Z06 though I saw one where a guy converted a C6 Z over to a targa. Wish i still had the pic though.~Cole~

The Z06 emblem should be on the scoop, not above it.

very nice car either way, but there is something shiny on the fender right where the badge goes, tho with all this attention to detail I would think someone would know where to put the badge lol

its a clone. MTI did 2 replicas for a father and a son. they even put 427's in them. except these made more power. its not hard to find the fenders and wheels.

They look like Euro-Side Flashers on the scoop. Nice knock off though

I was looking at the badging and thought it looked out of place...even if it were real...I would not convert to a convertible, targa top definately.

You can add the body parts, brakes, susp and engine to clone a ZO6. But its a little harder to put a ZO6 only aluminum frame under it. fwiw

It's a clone. There are members on this site that have done it. For instance, Tom @ Tbyrne Motorsports had his yellow C6 completely converted.

There is no convertible Z06. The chassis isn't rigid enough...

LOL the Targa top Z06 has been done plenty of times by GM. AKA shitty epoxy/glue disease.
