Those are awesome - what camera and what were your settings?
I went to the track last week and took some pics but stayed around the pit area and 60' area mainly - http://jhelms.smugmug.com/gallery/46...jkga#273195673
I need to try some panning shots next time but would love to go with the knowledge of the right settings to cut out some of the trial and error... thanks!

What part of the track were you at (which I guess would tell me about how fast the cars were going basically).
Were you using an IS lens, and/or an 'active' feature (allows for better horizontal panning while still holding down vertical jittering).
How about the focus, doing that manually or on continuous?
I'm heading to an open track event this weekend and will have a Nikon D200 with me, I just don't want to take too much time 'learning' the settings that I need once I get there. I was thinking continuous focus setting, 'active' image stabilization, and then playing with the apeture/shutter speed/iso to get the blur and clarity that I'm looking for.
What was the iso and aperture for these that you took?
