how big of a project is it to swap a auto tranny to a 6 spd on an LS1?
i'm looking into buying a T/A or Camaro and i see A LOT more autos than manuals but I want the manual.

Here's a swap I did. It's not too bad, how much you know about Wiring and how much work have you done..

I got $2793 in my swap. That includes the rear gear swap, new clutch and flywheel, new hydraulics, new console top and boots, not much used stuff. I did all the work myself.
The transmission had about the same mileage as my car at the time, around 32,000. I checked the vin on the car it came out of compared to what was stamped on the trans. Then I ran a carfax, it was listed totalled at 32,000 miles.
Found the deal in the classifieds here and drove to pick it up so I could see it all.
The wiring isn't that difficult, all the stuff at the pedals plugs right in, A4 to M6 wiring has the same plug ends with just a few more wires. The neutral safety wire is easy, and I added two pins to the ECM for the cruise and reverse lockout to work. Kept the A4 harness untouched so it can be swapped back.
