Default help a new guy with throttle body question!

After reading many posts, its my understanding that porting the MAF usually just causes problems, however, porting the TB works great. Why is this? because I was interested in porting my TB (Bauer would be the likely choice), but was wondering if it would be better to port it, or buy the BBK 80mm version? Would either of these require tuning? I would appreciate any input! by the way, have any of you seen this yet? click on this link THROTTLE BODY SPACER just wanted to get your thoughts on this. Thanks alot guys!!

You don't have to tune a Throttle Body and it won't set off any codes. The only thing you need to do when installing a new throttle body is the first time you start her up after the install.. Let the car sit and run so the computer can make the changes from the increased airflow.

I would say don't get the BBK. I have heard lots of bad things about them. There's no need to replace your stock TB. Getting a Bauer ported TB would be my suggestion. They are high quality and relatively inexpensive. You won't gain a tremendous amount of power. You will however get a nice SOTP (seat of the pants) feel and better throttle response.

As far as the TB spacer is concerned, don't waste your money.

Heard the spacer is really only for Vettes - not F-bodies.

dont' waste your money or time on a tb. You won't feel any gain even though the dyno may show you 5-7 hp AT PEAK.

Don't get the tb spacer, its a waste of money. the only thing you will see from it is a increase in gass milleage(if you drive good), and not that much of one.

thanks guys for the help! i figured the spacer was but i figured i'd get a few opinions anyways. If i decide to get a tb, i think i'll go with the ported Bauer, by the way, i read on the website that it has an adjustable throttle stop so it can be tuned with ATAP so it doesnt set off the SES light, will this be a problem for me? thanks
