How many miles do I usually have left to travel once my CHECK GUAGES light comes on?

I'm wondering, because I'm worried that I might run out of gasoline while on the road. Thank you in advance for the info.

Often, the relay gets toasted. I have NO Idea why, but working in a parts store, I've seen it happen several times. And we probably only saw 3-4 fuel pump issues a week.
That's why I said it won't happen, but it's a risk, and not one worth taking.

You've got awhile. Ive driven mine once to where the gauge was a good deal before the completely empty mark. My fuel light came on when i was in daytona FL and i filled up once i got in town. (Sanford FL) which according to mapquest is 36.4 miles doing 100mph down I-4 LOL

How far you can push it or till you come to a hill.
I've ran out once pulling into a friends house..my Gauge said 1/4, Tank was empty. Turns out the Float Lever was hanging up on one of the Clamps I had used to hold the Pump Bucket back together after I installed my Walbro 255. I ran it dry for the same reason once when it was at the shop..then I didn't know what it was.
I have it fixed now.

Please don't listen to LS6427 in that thread. He gets off on bashing other people's ideas when they don't agree with his own and treats people like they are idiots for disagreeing. The pump sucks the gas right out of the bucket that it's in, therefore it is not completely submerged at all times. . .especially not when you are out of gas. There is no magical bucket in the tank that holds enough gas to submerge the pump when the rest of the tank is empty.
