No such thing as a chip for these cars... you have to tune them with a handheld or computer tuner. Everything is saved to the PCM.

Get bolt-ons to gain power...
Headers, Exhaust, Intake manifold, Air lid,

Heads and cam if you wanna make big power

Well for one you don't "chip" an Ls1 car. You either buy a handheld programmer or take it somewhere for a custom tune. Start with the "free mods" (do a search for free mod list), an air lid, exhaust, then move on to headers, ls6 intake then a tune. A tune on a stock manual fbody isn't worth much. Wait until you start doing some more serious mods then have it tuned.

You could start simple with some of the free mods. Almost everyone has their own opinion on which of these result in performance gains and which are just BS. But don't let that stop you from trying them for yourself...

Free Ram Air (FRA), which involves cutting out the bottom of your airbox and the top of your inner air dam. This mod allows your engine to pick up cooler air from in front of your radiator.

Cutting your EGR Tube. The EGR Tube sticks down into your intake right behind the throttle body. You pull the tube out of the intake and cut off like 2 inches then reinstall it. This eliminates the tube from partially blocking air flow from your TB into your intake.

Descreen your Mass Air Flow Sensor. The screen on your MAF Sensor will pop out of the sensor housing. It is there to straighten air flow into the sensor and catch any debri from entering your TB/Intake. But the line of air flow into the intake for these cars is a straight shot and foreign objects should never reach your MAF because the air filter will catch it prior to travelling that far. Removing the screen allows for increased air flow into your TB/Intake.

Bypass your Throttle Body Coolant Line. GM has a coolant line coming from the radiator into a port on TB and then exits the TB and enters a line into the head on the other side. This is supposed to help the engine warm up more quickly in the cold weather months. But you really don't want the hot radiator fluid warming up the TB and in turn warming the air going into your engine. You would much rather have colder, more dense air. So what you do is get a couple of small hose clamps and like 2 feet of 5/16" rubber vacuum line. You connect one end to where the line exits the radiator and the other end to where the coolant enters the line going into the head. Thus bypassing the Throttle Body and resulting in your engine getting cooler air.

Good luck with your ride. By the way, where are from?

PCM = computer... the little box on the passenger side under the hood... near the back.... has a mess of wires coming from it. If you do not understand what that is, you should NOT be messing with re-programming it. No programmer is best, a dyno-tune is best. Each programmer has specific pros and cons...

Ya know what? **** on it... everything you wanna know can be found here...

That is one of the stickies up top... in this very forum... Start-a-reading

>.< Step by step... URGGGG ... I hope you have a lot of money

What you will need:
MONEY

An idea of what that supra is putting out HP-wise

A strong *** rear end... the 10 bolt is useless

Rebuild the entire motor... lifters, rollers, springs, injectors, pistons, rods, better cam and heads.

Eh, scratch that... imma bet that you are gonna need to shove an 454 or LS7 in there...

Seriously though, that post i mentioned earlier? IS an A-Z list of what you will need. Replace it all.

Hey mody82, I just did a search on that turbine you where describing for that Supra. You will need ALOT of power to go after something like that if that Supra is really pushing that turbo. A 76mm trim on a supra is deadly. You would have to forge your motor and either super or turbocharge the camaro to put a hurting on something like that. Including replacing the entire driveline also, your talking about spending a lot of money building that camaro up. Like what was posted above, start out with bolt ons and if you want more. Head and cam the car if you want more power. Even with head/cam you probably still wont be able to compete with that supra but there is always a faster car no matter what

Take your time in modifying the car, and do it right the first time bro. Research exactly what you want to do and plan for it. You have plenty of time fella.

The ls6 intakes came off of 2001-2002 fbody cars and 2001-2004 corvette ZO6 cars. It's an easy swap but you would have to take that pipe off and delete it through tuning or drill the new intake to put the pipe in, your choice. Personally if you want the best I would go for a Fast 92 intake and 92mm throttle body. More gains but more money. You can normally find a used ls6 intake for $300 U.S. Dollars.

If I were you I'd start buying books and a GM service manual set so that you can learn how to do all of the work yourself since you say no one really works on these cars there. I think the best thing for you to get since you are limited on your building knowlege and tuning would be a supercharger or turbo followed by a full exhaust system upgrade. Easy to install and can make as little horse power you want or enough to blow your motor. Forged internals would be best to supports the mods you want but like I said you would have to do the work yourself or find somebody with the skills to do it.
