Default what to spend my $ on?

ok i have a 98 z28, right now i have $800 that i would like to put in to my car but im not sure what to start with.

im pretty sure i want to get the loud mouth exhaust, then i was thinking about getting the slp cold air set up too.

or i could get the loud mouth and some suspension components like sfc or lower control arms or torque arm. (if i should go for sfc, should i do bolt on or weld on sfc)

well what do you guys recommend? any help is always appreciated

The first question is what do you want to do with your car? (drag race, autocross, street driving, show car, etc.) Second, manual or auto?

$800 is not a whole lot, but can get you started.

I would go with an air lid, and catback (if that's what you want, but a cut out will give you better gains for less at the track). Then if you have an auto I'd start saving for a converter, if you have a manual might want to consider a different shifter.

You can get a bunch of "beginner" mods for $800. Here's one way to go...

1. Lid - $100
2. Cutout - $30
3. Fernco Hose - $5
4. Free Mods - $0
5. Converter - $600
-------------------------
Total: $735

Now, here's how I'd do it.

1. Lid - $100
2. Cutout - $30
3. Fernco - $5
4. Free Mods - $0
5. NX wet kit (150 shot) - $500
6. Drag Radials - $300
----------------------------------
Total: $935

I'm a little over budget. That will put you in the mid 11's.

Go to the A4 section and read up on the TC's. I think your gonna want to get a TC, tranny cooler & maybe a shift kit first. Thats what i would have done first before i spent a grand on headers and othe accesories. That is my next mod plus some 3:73's by far!!!

Go with a TC/tranny cooler...I think you are a little out of range of yank's but TCI's are slightly under 500 bucks...if you have access to jack stands/lift you could do this yourself...I think 8 bolts for the tranny and 3 for the TC...That would also leave you a little money for a lid/cutout...If you happen to go with the TC...I would strongly advise not going lower than a 3500 stall...will be pleanty streetable and slightly loose but you will not regret it...good luck

I can tell you this.. I have a TSP lid and a K&N filter for sale for 100 bucks. The lid runs for 100 bucks by itself and im throwing in the K&N for free. That would leave you with enough money for your TC setup as well...I bought a suncoast hood and have no need for it anymore. Its only about 3-4 months old... Let me know

A converter should be high on your list if you have an A4.

Get a lid and TQ converter. Midwest makes good converters and can be had for around 500$ Lids are around 75-100$ depending what you get. Also get a tranny cooler which is around 50$. Then buy a catback system, or save up for headers.
