Angry ok, please help me figure this out!

ok, my boyfriend took my valve covers off of my car and then put them on his for a couple of days and drove his car around while my car didn't do anything....

ok, now, he puts them back on my car and what do you know, my car is throwing a code!!!!

i let it run for just a second thinking you know it might go away, well i put the car in reverse and it is kind of making this noise and kind of jerking really hard in reverse, so i shut it off....

told my bf, he doens't know what it is, he said it might be a spark plug???!!??

please help.... any info?

I would look at the wires and pulgs first myself, and any of the associated wiring on the coil packs. Just a guess.

Check around the valve covers also and make sure there are no wires being pinched between the covers and the head.

pull the code and see what it is?

check the spark plug wires to make sure there all connected, the coil packs are tight, and the white power harness is tight and secure.

Probably a loose plug wire as the others sugested. The tricky thing about them is sometimes they click once like they are on, but you have to push really hard until you get a double click for them to really be on all the way.

a loose wire wouldnt throw up a code though would it? i've only had a loose wire once and it didnt throw up a code, engine was just ticking.

no. atap/efi are logging and scanner tool that cost 200-500 bucks. you can buy them from the sponsors.

if you just want to buy a code reader i suggest buying the one in the link i posted. for now just go to autozone.

yea i looked some up on ebay that are OBD II compliant and brand new....

they will delete the codes and they are a little over 100 they look a little better than the ones at harbor frieght...

i think it is a good idea to have one for me and the bf for future use, plus for all of our friends...

anyways thanks for all your help, i guess i will bring it to autozone tomorrow! wish me luck

P0300 is a random/multiple misfire
P0400 is EGR related
P0200 is Injector related.

try resetting the PCM and see if the codes come back? if they do then you'll need to address them but if they dont it was probably an isolated incident.
