Default Ws6?

Hello, So i need some help. I found a Black 2000 WS6 6 speed, the dealer says its a true ws6 but i think its a clone. It doesnt have the emblem on the back it only has the hood and Z06 rims. So i was wondering if there are any quick ways to tell if it is a WS6?

Here it is

Look in the drivers side door jam. You will see the codes WS6 and WS9.

That's not a factory hood.

Then again, neither are the wheels and exhaust either.

Yep, not a factory WS6 hood but the door codes will tell the story for sure.

I'm pretty sure that the dealer is lying. That hood doesn't look stock to me.

Like the others have said, check the door sticker for "WS6". Or run the VIN through Compnine or any GM dealer.

Definitely check the VIN or the door tags. Unfortunately some dealers are not honest. I had a similar situation happen with me. Luckily I used my head and didn't fall for a clone. Good Luck

There is 120,000 and they want 10k when i look at it im going to try to talk them down to 9k because i would like less miles.

The dealership is 45 minutes away so called the dealer again and told him if i go all the way out there and its not a true ws6 he is paying for my gas haha

Even at 9k, you're being very generous. And that's IF it were a real Ws6.

Think about it some more.

Plug the VIN# into this site. http://www.compnine.com/vid.php

Look on the column to the left under where it says "RPO." If WS6 is not one of your RPO's, your sh*t is bootleg mang.

If you don't want to inspect the RPO Code Sticker on the Door Jam in person, have the dealer take a picture of it (close enough to read the codes on it) and have them email it to you.

No WS6 Code. Not a WS6. Simple as that.

I also agree with Gsus. $9000 for a car with 120k miles is too much.

If its a WS6 offer them $7500. If not $6000. If they're unwilling to bargain, remind the dealer it is February and that you are in Colorado. If they really believe they can get $10k out of it in the middle of winter, more power to them.

And, most importantly, if its not what you want, walk away.

Yep, no need to drive all the way out there to verify if the car is a WS6. Get the VIN, run it through Compnine. You never have to leave your computer.
