Heads, cam, and better exhaust and tune,,.. i dont know if you have headers or not... you should already have the ls6 intake it being a 02,,, im new to the ls1,,, but had a few lt1's... guess it just depends how deep your wallet is.. and dont forget to beef up the suspension,,, subframe connectors,, (you may have the boxed lower control arms and pan hard bar already also)before you go putting alot of power down,,, good luck,,,and welcome to the site,, im in the DFW area too...

Go buy a LS6 or was it LS2, I can't remember. If your looking for that 405hp bolt on's and a good cam and tune will get you there.

243 casting # heads .. that is the heads on the z06 vette ...or thr 799 heads also i think,.. and the cam is personal taste... on the sound,, and what kind of driving you will be doing.. Texas speed is the cam im going to go with(224r cam for my daily driver),, and if you tell them what you are trying to achieve they will help you out.. and line you out with what all you will need to go with the cam and match it best to you heads..or you can shop there head and cam packages... just didnt know if your going for the hp..or trying to replicate a z06 motor... but im sure you can find a ton of members on here that have used there packages and tell you how much hp there making... sweet looking ride also!!!!

get the 243/799 heads for $400.the cam depends on what exhaust system you decide to use.the better flowing the exhaust the more power from a mild cam swap.look at a thunder racing (tr224) or a EPS cam (222/226) to make over 400+rwhp,with LT headers and a good cat back.

Ls6 crate motor. Although the only ones you can buy new are for ctsv's. I bought one and a cam fast intake and bolt ons netted me 450rwhp and 414rwtq

Don't waste your money trying make it Ls6. If you don't have the Ls6 block in your car you will have buy whole new block to if want true ls6 but its not worth doing.

Why do you want a z06 motor so you can say you got z06 motor LOL? get the real z06 motor Ls7 or just settle with 6.0 with heads and cam.

just work with the ls1 heads cam will make over 400 RWHP. Stock Ls6 motor will only be 350 rwhp or so.

Thanks for the advice,my car has M6 and I'm not the kind of guy to brag that I have a Z06 motor in my Camaro. I'm just wanting to know if the Z06 has a 5.7 litre with 405HP stock. Is the head and cam the difference between their 5.7 and mine?
I'm trying to educate myself a little from you veterans out there.
Thanks

We can to better that 405 HP which is the engines HP and not measured at the rear tires. So Since your car is a 02 you already have the LS6 intake, So I would get headers and some bolt ons U/D pulley maybe a ported throttle body. Then a cam package will net you 400 RWHP. Which I would give Geoff at EPS a call and he can get you into a cam package thats right for you. He is a cool guy and talked to me for 30 minutes to get the right stuff for me. Customer service goes a long way.

The LS6 has 243 cast (LS6) heads and an LS6 cam. But forget all that, you need to read all the stickies first...

Look for a used u/d pulley in the classifieds. The ls6 utilized a bigger cam, better flowing heads, different pistons and block then its ls1 counter part. So unless you want a new engine its really not worth it. But again its really up to you.

Here's My .02¢

True Duals
Texas Speed Headers
Crank Pulley U/D
Caspers Electronics V-Plus Volt Booster
Fuel Pump Upgrade (Walbro)
85mm MAF
Lid
Tune it

You'll be pushing more than 405 HP.

PM Sent

I'd go with the ASP Harmonic/UD Pulley, it's what I have on mine.
