Default Anyone hear of GM's new way to do extended warranties? Cool

Went today to ask about more extended warranty options as when I bought my ext warranty last year, if I wanted to bump it up I had to be within 3/36,000. Well....no more!!!

Apparently GM will now let you extend your warranty even during your extended warranty period, plus it's better and here's how:

Last year I got a 5 year/75,000 mile extended. They counted it from the in service date, which was April 2001. NOW if I am to extend it, after I pay for the new one, my old one is refunded (what's left) and the new one takes effect from the date I sign for it.

For example, if I decide to get a different extended warranty in July for 4 years, 32,000 it's 4 years and 36,000 from the date I sign the contract instead of the in service date!!! So that is something I will be looking into. They just started doing this a few months ago to see how well it goes over.

I am regretting buying the extended warranty now, cause I am about to throw it out the window.

I read the 'fine print' and know what the extended warranty DOES NOT cover on our cars...

There is a LOT that is NOT covered...

I'm getting my extended warranty pro-rated and refunded. cause it doesn't cover anything. It's like a game show they tell you that it's 80 bucks to look at the car, then if they can't find anything and have to go inside the car it would be about 400 bucks, if they find something and it's covered THEN you pay nothing.... B U T if it's not covered your out the 80, 400, and what ever it will cost to finish the job.

I have an extended warranty (non GM) on my car until Nov 2007 or 91,000 -whichever comes first.

My rearend broke and my extended warranty company covered it. Total price around 2100 bucks including a rental. I also have a 0 deductible so it cost me nothing. Since I paid 1800 for the extended warranty; it's already paid off for me!

But unlike some, I do not plan on any major mods and my car is my daily driver. I just have the basics; lid, exhaust and chassis bracing mods, and plan on keeping it that way until the warranty runs out.

That's what I did. But the 100K warranty is a joke. It doesen't cover ****. I had to threaten to go to the BAP to get an emissions related problem fixed. Emissions stuff is covered for 50k miles. I was well under that. Even then the guy didn't admit I was right. He said he's cover it under thr "good faith warranty".
