Help! Msd SC wires installed and now clicking/tapping sound
I just put some MSD wires on this afternoon, start the car up and "click, click, click", rough idle, threw the cel. It sounds like it is coiming from the passenger side. When i put the wires on i made sure the "2 clicks" going onto the coil pack and "1 click" onto the plug. I have slp headers and they seem to come really close to some of the boots. i bent them all just alittle so the were not physically touching the headers. What do you guys think? I have to wait til it cools down so can touch the wires again to make sure there on good but i am almost certain they are.

Started it again in the dark to try and see any spark, nothing. Now the cel goes off but car is still running like ****. Clicking/tapping sound still there. Also I think it's running richer...not sure though. What do I do now? Any one else have anything like this happen to them? Could I have a bent pushrods or something, I would think unlikely though since this noise just happened at start up after switching wires.

The exhaust seems richer because you currently have a misfire that is allowing unlit, raw fuel into the exhaust. The car is running like crap because of this misfire. The misfire has caused the SES light (probably codes P0300 and P030x, X = the specific cylinder that the PCM thinks is misfiring).
It's an almost certainty that this is due to the wire change, since that's the only thing you did prior to the condition. I can't listen to your video, but the noise you have described is consistant with these other indicators that at least one cylinder is not firing properly, and, based on the background information you've provided, this is likely due to lost spark because of a poorly connected or burned wire boot.
The simple fix here would be to put the stock wires back on and make sure that the issue goes away. Then you know for sure.

I dont have a scanner and autozone is a hike from me. Not even sure i should drive it, dont want to foul out that plug although i might have already. Maybe ill buy a scanner today.....

Bought a scanner, code is P0300 random/multiple missfire. Doesnt sound good, i figured it would only be a certain cylinder. So i guess i put the old acdelco's back on an hope for good results, wish me luck.

well, put stockers back on an no problems so far.....I do feel like there is a slight tap/knock on the passenger side where the unglyness was happening but i dont know if its me just being paranoid at this point.

I might just call up mike @ws6store.com and ask for store credit or a refund. I have spent a good amount of coin over there so i hope he understands. Basically i am going to say **** MSD wires for my car. Period. Just got back from a little ride and all is well, no funny noise like i thought i herd, just piston slap, never thought i would be so happy to hear piston slap. And when i buy (if i buy) new wires, Z06 reds FTW.

Glad to hear it's fixed. I figured that's all it was.
I don't like aftermarket wires for these cars, I just don't see the need really...unless you're using headers that contact the stock plug boots. Stock wires are fine for an LS1, we don't have ~2 foot long wires nor a low powered single coil ignition system like an old SBC.
