Ebay Headers VS Name brand?
Hey all,
So I don't even own an F body yet, but want to know as much as possible so when I do I can jump right in.
Some of you guys have stainless ebay longtubes. How is the fitment/quality? Do they last? The way I see it, if it's stainless it won't rust, and if it fits it fits..it's just piping.
What ye say LS1tech?

They're not bad. Not great either, but if you're on a super tight budget like I was then they're a good option. They do have some issues to contend with.
1. I had to cut a few inches off the collector on the driver side header to get it to mate up with a Pacesetter ORY.
2. The bungs for the 02 sensors will be on the wrong sides which makes routing the wires for the 02s a PITA.
3. Had to notch the K-member on both sides as they were slammed right up against it.
4. The driver side header angles up which puts the Y-pipe slammed right up against the floorboard. I had to wedge some rubber between the Y and the floorboard to get it to stop rattling the car.

Also keep in mind they are 1-5/8" primaries as compared to name brands being 1-3/4" or 1-7/8". You can read more in-depth about that discovery here: https://ls1tech.com/forums/generatio...primaries.html

I can't even count the number of threads I've seen over the years with people complaining about fitment issues with ebay headers. Pretty much read Latch's post and that will sum up the situation you'll most likely be dealing with. If the costs savings is worth those issues to you then they may be right up your alley.
Don't know what you will be paying for the Ebay ones but Texas Speed has their popular headers in stock for $410

I am going to be the odd man out here...I bought the OBX headers with their Y pipe and they fit PERFECT. Absolutely loved them. they weren't huge, but they tucked up better than stock.
I would buy ebay over TSP. However I went the complete opposite end of the spectrum on my current car and bought the Kooks Headers and exhaust system. Big $, big gains, and perfect sound.

Some people run them and are very happy. Others have had a lot of issues. You can get some used headers in the classifieds for the same price or slightly more and the y-pipe might even be included. Thats what I did and I'm very happy with what I got.

Been running them a while now, did run into some fitment issues on the driver side. If you have a shop and the ability to weld/cut if needed, then they are well worth the money saved. If you are looking to just bolt and do no fabricating, then you may not want to roll the dice with them.
