Default 243 heads

Hey guys I was wondering if $430 for 243 heads was a good price even if they need to be rebuilt? The guy I'm getting it from doesn't know if they need to be rebuilt. Also how much is it to rebuild these heads?

Prices range greatly. I wouldn't pay more than $350.

I've seen a couple pairs of 243 heads on ebay for 450 and 550. I think the 550 ones were rebuilt. Come with valves springs retainers etc.

So I'm guessing I shouldn't pick up the ones for $430?

$4-450 is about normal for lightly used and in good shape ones. A little less if they need some work, a little more if they come all cleaned up and with new hardware.

When I sold mine a few years ago I had several people ready to pay the full asking price of $450, so I would never let a set go for $350 nowadays when they are not in production anymore yet still in demand.

400 give or take is around the price range. I paid 425 for a complete set of low mileage Z06 heads that were recently cleaned up. If I were you I would look for another set.

Well I didn't end up getting them because they weren't even 243 castings they were 8xx casting. The dude was pushing me to buy it trying to tell me it was the same thing, but I did my hw before hand lol. Dude was rude too, about to write a review on the guy.

Ya I'm looking for either 799 or 243. These are really hard to find locally though. Also haven't seen them go for a good price on the forums lately.

Kooky. I paid, I think, $300 for a set of virgin LS2 takeoffs
when I was looking (although I looked for quite a while,
unwilling to go $350). Patience is key.
