Default Rear end turbo 4 ls1?

I was told about this turbo that goes in the rear end of your car. In place of the muffler, it goes for $3500 and is suppose to increase your rwhp by 50%? Anyone heard anything about this turbo. Im trying to get details.

Go to the forced induction section and search for STS. They make the rear mount turbo kit.

That thing is weird as hell. It seems like there would be a huge turbo lag time.

People who have it say there isnt much lag, but I think that is bs. I am sure there is some, and its worse than front mounted turbo. As long as you spool it up before launching its not so bad. I hear is is the best bang for the buck in terms of FI... I would like to try one out.

From the look of it, you have a huge compressor -
TB run which has got to store some serious air.
This may mellow out the "turbo lag" effect some.

The pictures on that site look like a real shade-tree
cobble to me. Wonder what the price of an eBay
turbocharger and exhaust shop rates times however
long it takes, would roll up to. Though that's perhaps
simplistic.

On the plus side that 12 feet of intake run gives you
a free intercooler... sorta.

I was looking at the dyno comparison for an LS1...and they showed a stock 99 Camaro making 319hp. That sounds a little steep, no?

What happens to your turbo plumbing when you hit a bad pothole I wonder? For that kind of $$ you'd be better off getting a Vortech supercharger kit, with no lag at all.

Some of the turbo guys I know think its a horrible design. They say alot of the claims that website makes are just not true at all. Their cars are in the 8s and 9s, so they know what they're talking about.

Yeah, notice how the example they show is a 4X4 with a huge lift. I really doubt this system will work well on a lowered F-body. Besides, aren't there dangers of generating heat under the car as well?

To everyone who is still asking question...go to the FI section and read up on this kit. It seems to be working pretty well.

I just put one on my truck and i'm realy impressed. Very little turbo lag. hardly noticable.
