12 bolt vs. Stroker
I have the money to either change my rear to a 12 bolt (moser or strange?) or I can stroke my engine. If anyone has any advice on which one I should do and why I would greatly appreciate it. I am currently running a powerdyne supercharger, hooker long tube headers, flowmaster exhaust (no cats), vig 2800 convertor, hd driveshaft, auburn locking diff, 373 gears, taylor thundervolts, and slp lid. Any input would be greating appreciated.

So long as your rear is in good condition, I don't think your going to break it with the auto very quickly. If you don't go to the strip on et drags alot, then I would get the stroker.. however, if your plan is to make the car a drag vehicle.. always strengthen the rear first. FWIW: We have guys running low 10's over 130mph on the stock rear with automatics. M6's are another story I had my 12 bolt before I even got a cam.
Good Luck,

I do not plan on running this car hard (dragging) more than about 10 times ever. It is just my fun car that I want to be able to blow away some punk mustang when he pulls up next to me. I am still unsure of which one to do. I have only driven my car about 800 miles this entire year. So as you can see it does not get driven much and I have never dragged it. I played once when a friend asked me to get on it from a take off which I sorta did.

yea, i cant speak about ls1 power, but with my old 71 lemans i shelled out the stocker one wheel peel rear at the WORST possible time. never had that car to the track, just a 'fun' car...
with alot of power and a stock rear, it will break sooner or later.

Given the fact that you are already running a supercharger and those other mods, adding a stroker to that might be a little much with the stock rearend.
If you were nearly stock I'd say go with the stroker, but as it is you might want to think about strengthening up other components before adding more power.

dont risk getting stuck somewhere because some lucky SOB ran a 10 on the stock rear... 8/10 times a blower by itsself is enough to kill the stock ten bolt.
tens can break on the street, on the track , on the dyno... and the only one thing that always holds true is the day it breaks is the day you dont have the money or time to fix it.... why chance it?
look ask most hard corp racers... you build the car to handle the motor, its cheaper that way, less headaches, more fun.
if you start out with a sick motor, then blow the rear... you have to pay for towing , then fixing, then buying the rear you should have anyways so it dont happen again,
just use your head... take your time... do it right ... do it once
