You guys are the smart ones so help me out......
I got a question i have 2 mustang cobras at my school talking **** about me and my lt1(dont hate on it plz lol). I have a 1996 TA WS6(saving for an 02) and it is stock automatic. One of the cobras is bone stock 98 which is a manual and a good shifter, and the other one has a 1996 or 1998 cobra with 410 gears and basani exaust and an x-pipe. he has an manual and is a suck-*** shifter. Do you think i can win against these guys i have been hearing both?? I leave this open to you guys!

hmmm.....i think you will lose to the stock cobra since you say he can drive, may be even for a little while if you get a good launch....but I think you will pull him up top. The bassani cobra you might be able to punk....if you say he cant shift worth a ****. He'll probably pull, and then when he shifts youll make up ground.....depends on how bad he is, might be able to pull it off. Im assuming you guys are going to go from a stop correct?? Remove any unnecessary weight you can (spare tire, jack, rear seat) GOOD LUCK and let us know how it goes down

See if U can borrow some DR's Lt1 are quick off the line, I had a 96 WS6 with some minor mods and off the line I was quick vs LS1's but once my car shifted into 2nd LS1's flew past me like I was sitting still (99 SS A4, Lid & Hpp3) I think it would be a good race with the cobra. If you can get the jump on him its gonna take some power to make that lost ground up.

It should be a close race either way, but your stock Trans Am is probably a touch slower than the other 2 cars. A stock Cobra of those years runs high 13's low 14's if I'm not mistaken. If you were a stick or slightly lighter Camaro you'd have a better chance.

I vote for you, thinking you were a LS1 car, but unfortunately, i see you are a LT1 motor....stock at that. I think if you did win ,it would be by a hair. I dont think you can take that geared/exhaust cobra....
maybe if he's a bad driver, but other than that, good luck!

should be pretty close. Although, you definetly have the low end on him, so do everything you can to get a GREAT launch. Mustangs (especially manuals) dont generally hook real great off the line, and since between you and him the hp numbers are pretty close you should have him. But, if you blow the launch, all he is gonna do is put distance between you and him.

Mustangs with gears launch well off the line...I had a 1998 GT, with 3.90's and I could beat a lot of cars, some LS1's for about 30 feet, then it wasn't even worth trying. I would say the stock Cobra, should be a really close race, but the geared and exhaust Cobra I don't think you will be able to pull it off unless he really is that bad of a driver. Take it with a grain of salt...

Yeah i am going to race them the first chance i get. I am saving right now for either eidlebroch tubular headers or hookers, flowmaster exaust, and possible a k &N. It will be an intresting race it sounds like...
