headers and cutout
I have ordered pacesetter LTs and a TSP y-pipe and will be running it through a cutout. I know it will be louder but I am trying to get an idea of exactly what I am in for as far as loudness....
any insight?
thanks,
Ben

That all really depends on your muffler. I have a SLP
factory CME and it's night-and-day; the cutout sounds
like *** below about 2000RPM but great in the powerband
(at idle, it just sounds like you have a bad muffler).
Somebody with a Loudmouth or the like, would probably
not even notice it was open. A lot of what you experience
in-car will depend on where you locate it. Up by the Y you
will probably get more cabin boom out of it. Mine is out
back and only resonates the sheet metal a little bit (I
will someday put a down-deflector on the outlet). You can
look for my old post about "cutout different approach" if
you want to see my setup.

I've got the Street Pro electric, sounds fantastic, but it's a little on the loud side at WOT. And that's running through a couple of Random Tech high flow cats. I think without the cats, it may be too loud.

sounds like a nascar. basically wide-open it will get you the most dramatic of both looks.
people will either drool as you cruise by or they will cringe and cover there ears.. there is no inbetween you will either love it or hate it....
i ride like that every where i go

Jaberwaki has said it very well... if your running with an ory and a cut-out, you'll love the sound and most people will... But it will get you bad looks from some people. I was driving back to school the other week and gave it gas leaving a stop sign and these two old women on the sidewalk started screeming (pretty sweet). However you still have to worry about cops because it is going to be very loud. I am running it through that stock muffler... so when im just driving during the day i cap my cut-out and it's quieter than most cars, but when i feel like it, just take the cap off and scare the **** out of old ladies .

I have a tally going....
so far between both cars i have scared 4 laidies into jumping at start up in a parking lot...(that never ceases to make me laugh)
and i have made 5 kids cry from being scared of the "dragon" coming to get them...lol
