I was jus curious if evryone could make of list of the problems they've had with their car. I take care of mine and never beat on it and i garage it for the winter. 1998 trans am w/ 85k
heres a list of my problems

3 blown speakers, not raelly sure if it was my fault <<havent got fixed yet
e-brake jus snapped while pulling it up in park <<$45
e-brake is fixed but now the car rolls when i have the e-brake up
antenna broke, wont go up and down anymore<<havent got fixed yet
4 o2 sensors went<<$600
rotors get warped really fast, it shakes violently on the highway tryin to brake
passenger seat came loose<<fixed on my own
driver side window motor went<<haven't got fixed yet
right headlight sumtimes wont go up
sumtimes digital clock on radio gets messed up and i cant read it, usually fixes when i punch it

if anyone else has had any of these problems coudl u list it please because im not sure if it jus my car that has the issues or it happens to others.

pass. side power window motor died - replaced
driver side is dying
driver side power mirror wont go up or down
seat belt clip broke
1 speaker blown
rotors warped
alternator died
water pump died
i'm sure they may have been a few other small things but that is all i can think of...nothing serious but a lot of small stuff...

not to bad, shes treating me good.......

Headlight Motor Gear - Warrantied (Get a metal one)
Driver Door Speaker - Warrantied
AIR Pump diaphram Flagging MIL Light - Warrantied (Design issue)

02 TA - nothing yet, but its only got 2100 miles on it....
and even if it did have an issue, Id rather wait till it went out of warranty, so I could fix it myself.

I don't know if any of those are really "problems" sounds more like wear and tear stuff. My car has 1 rear speakers that doesn't work right....they should have put stronger speakers in. I had 1 fog light go out. Thats about it

I have not had any problems, that is one reason why I LOVE it!!!!!

Well on my 94 LT1 car i went through transmissions like it was going out of style. Then i had the usual little problems, rattles making a first time rider question the vehicles structural integrity. But all of this and the thousands of dollars spent on repairs did not affect my love for the 4th gen any less. In fact it made me love it more and made me buy another.

i have a pretty good list for my car but i bought it with some of the stuff like it was. got a good deal and couldn't help buying her.

1....slave cylinder went 5 days after buying it.
2....radio dash bezel tabs are broke and won't hold it on. (like that when i bought it)
3....shifter boot phucked up (also like that when i bought it)
4....rear tires were slick (got a 2 nittos from a junkyard for 70 bucks)
5....windshield has a small crack in it (like that when i bought it)
6....3 blown speakers ( gonna get some kappas anyways so it's all good)
7....5th and 6th gear syncros just went out (getting that fixed next week)
8....had a both front turn signal bulbs out ( 4.98 Advance)
9....exhaust was rattling but had that fixed when slave was put in
10...stock shifter **** is rubbing off in my hand (gonna get a better one when i put my 5.0 in)
11..O2 sensor went out (78.61 but i got it back cause i work at the store.lol)
12..maf sensor may be goin out ??

i think that's all. lol. it makes my car sound like a piece of ****. . it was definately abused before i bought it but i'll have it nice again one day. lol.... ......zac

Drivers side window not working.
Replaced the motor.

1. Warped about 4 sets of rotors.
2. Power window (driver's side) died.
3. Ringlands were on the way out (150 shot of nitrous ).
4. Piston slap
5. Oil consumption
6. PITA to change the #8 plug.

Ok...so a few aren't GM's fault.

The biggest problem is that I had to get rid of it.

I've had my 2001 T/A since Nov. of '04. I bought it with approx. 77.5k miles and it now has 85k.
Here's the list of stuff that's broken since I've had it...
Water Pump
Alternator
Right Headlight
Idler Pulley
Idler Pulley Mounting Bracket
Blown Speaker

driver side window motor went at around 35k
paint on front bumber cracking on the bottom lip and spiderwebbing around the front emblem and headlights: started around 40k. drives me nuts
paint bubbling on the sides of the b-pillar: started around 50k.
did I mention onyx black was a mistake?
driver side cat converter went at around 55k
hot weather ping from 53k, have not heard it since the cat was replaced

i drive it pretty hard and it pulls even better then it did on the testdrive back in 2001 - 60k on it now

what is the idler pulley problem people keep mentioning? what is the idler pulley for that matter?

the trunk latch on mine sucks. the mf has been "fixed" three times by three different dealers under warranty and it still sticks with the remote, dash & key.

99 SS with 41k

Driver's side window motor----replaced motor
Pinion seal leaking on rear end------replaced 3.42's with 4.10's(and new seal)
Five year old battery finally gave out---replaced with new Optima

That's it. Other than that it's perfect.
