Default Oil in Intake

When I got my car I noticed that there was some oil in the bottom of the throttle body. Is this normal?(dont think so) If not, whats wrong? Is my engine about to blow or what?

How can i fix it if something is really wrong?

I'll probably have to rebuild it with forged internals and a stroker kit just to be safe, huh?

could just be normal oil consumption, however, i don't think oil should be in the throttle body...but just to be safe i would build a forged 347...

I saw that there was oil in the throttle body and the filter so its definitely coming out of the engine. Runs fine, sounds fine, just changed oil so i dont know.

Whats a ballpark for a forged motor after all is said and done? Never done this before.

oil on TB = pcv

revert to the ls6 pcv system and/or get a catch can.

Guess i'm a real newb but I have to ask, What is a catch-can? What exactly is happening? Where can I go to learn more about it if you dont feel like explaining.

So its no big worry?

Oh my, you don't need to rebuild the motor because there's oil in the throttle body/intake. Like said above it's just being sucked through your PCV. This is very common with LS1's, unfortunately. Do a search for "AMW catch can". They're $88 but well worth the cost. Quality is top notch. In my opinion an catch can is a MUST have for any LS1. Install a catch can, change the plugs, and you should be fine.
