If he wants the mods on the second car then it would be the better buy. It also depends on the condition of both.
Personally, I'd go w/ the 00...but try to talk him down on $.

go for the 00 just try to hagle the price down a little. Also just look the car over if it's nice and clean then that usually means that that person took care of the car and most likely kept up with the maintainence as well.

Ya but they leak and without them the car is lighter and stiffer.

Meh, that's debateble, SFC's fix the stiff part pretty well. It seems though that that really doesn't matter to you, so I guess that leaves one option... #2.

t-tops are nice, but not reason to pick the 99 over the 00. i don't take the ttops off in the summer cuz its way too hot and my shorts would be soaked when i got out... and i dont use them in the winter for obvious reasons. if the mods have been done right, then i wouldn't have a problem saving the dough.

Personally, i'd wait for a better deal but if I had to choose then i'd get the 99 for reasons already stated.

Here in the Bay Area, these cars are very difficult to come buy and are generally more expensive then in other parts of the country. Most cars are more expensive than these with higher miles. Z28s with 50k run 13-14k.

T-tops have a higher resale value...unless you're a true f-body fan and you plan on keeping it

Yeah, I would think you could get it cheaper as well. SS's in 00 weren't that much more than Z, but there are other options that could be on the car that you aren't seeing. Ask what was done to the car at SLP, you can call them with the vin or send e-mail

Given the choices, I would go with 2000 SS. However, as stated, I would shop around some more, I'm sure you could find better deal out there.

i say 00, but def talk him down some. explain to him about how the market for fbodies is kinda dry and show him other ads for cheaper cars like his...hell either sell it to you for cheaper, or laugh at you and tell you to go and buy one of the cars you showed him.

oh, and i got my 99 formula with 22k for 11.5k
