I think it is 346 or 347 or something like that. I'm pretty sure it isn't a 350.

It is 346, not 350, the ls1 displacement is the same for all of them, regardless of years, hope that helps

These guys have it right.

The LS2 and LS7 are larger engines though.

Yeah, gm just decided to call em 350's for marketing purposes. Everyone's heard of the awesomeness, power and reliability of a chevy 350! But if they called it a 346 it would sound weaker and wouldn't be familiar to people who owned cars with a 350 in em before. Regardless, we still have the most efficent, and most powerful ~350 cubic inch engine chevy ever put in a sports car, other than special engines like ls6 and lt4. Be PROUD to have an LS1

Its 346 CI.

Its the same thing they did in 1969. A SS396 Chevelle actually had a 402CI. They didn't want to lose the branding.

It's not a stupid question at all. It's actually a very astute one. If you were to go by the manual that CAME with your car, it says 350. However, if you do the displacement calculation using bore and stroke, it comes out to approximately 346 (345.7 or so). So you'll still hear the unninitiated calling it a 350, but it is truly a 346.
