Default Is this a good deal for a '99 SS?

Alright guys there's a guy i know selling a '99 CamaroSS M6, fully loaded, leather... everything with 16,000 miles on it for $17,500. its black. BONE stock but says he'll throw in a brand new unopenned car cover and SLP exhaust new in the box. he says his wife probably put 12k miles on it but i dont know how true that is. I thought this was a fairly good deal... am i right???

I'd have to say that the miles are very very low, but the price is high comparing a 99 to 2001's that are out there. It's a 6 yr old car, bottom line. For that kind of money it better still be on stock F1 goodyears and be in show room condition. I'd prefer to get a newer year car for 18K and a 2001 at that with the LS6 intake and Z06 clutch and injectors.

I've seen 99's around for 10-11K SS's as well. Depends on the SLP options this car has. Is it a stripper SS or does it have all the bells and whistles from the Bilsteins to the Auburn pro posi?

https://ls1tech.com/forums/vehicles-sale-lsx-powered-only/340607-2001-som-ta-ws6-m6-sale.html

This car is for sale it's in very good shape driven by a Women and raced a few times.

Already has very good headers on it, can't beat it for the mods it has or price.

Yeah that's about $1,000 too much, probably more like $1,500 too much. If this is the exact car you have been searching for I would say get it, otherwise move on.

if its in that good of condition, i say go with it! You can always talk him down a little! Plus, knowing the history of the car is almost invaluable. If you trust how its been maintained and cared for, thats more valuable than some of the features of a newer model. Thats the one variale I have no control of, the previous maintenance on my car. I dont know how it was treated! So, if you can be sure of its legitimacy of previous care, and think its in good shape i say get it! Sounds like its had less use than most of the 2002's that you'll find!

The miles are low, and the price is so-so. If you can talk him down a bit, its a great deal!

Im pretty sure it has everything GM and SLP had to offer. guys in his mid 40's
and says hes old school, thats why he went with the black SS M6 instead of a A4 Z28. I'd start off real low... maybe $15,800 or $16,000 just to see how cheap i could get it. thanks for the comments

Price seems a bit high to me, even for the low miles.

If it was a loaded SS, there should be a sticker from SLP listing all of the options.

I paid 13k for mine in November. It had 17k miles and it is loaded with options. The SLP sticker in the passenger door jamb should tell you what SLP options it has. BTW if makes a difference mine was owned by a female owner and had all the maintanance records showing very good care was taken of it.

thats too high. ON another note i just happened to see a T/A WS6 at a dealership with a price of $22,000 and some change, and it was SOLD. Who pays that? I think it was an 02.

i bought my hugger SS (1 or 54) almost 2 years ago. it had 17.5K miles... 4:10's, lid, and was in PERFECT cond. he was asking $18K, and i got it for $16K.

id say if you really want the car offer him $16K and im sure it will be yours.

over priced is in the eye of the beholder. dont forget demand, rare ness, and just really waning that car, is what really matters.

Someone who HAS to have it no matter what.........funny they paid $6974 less than I paid for mine 4.5 yrs ago and I ordered mine new. In that thinking I would say it's not a good deal at all. 2001's and 2002's should be retailing between 16-18K no more than that depending on condition and miles. I think the last time I checked KBB listed mine as $15,032 for a trade in. Not bad considering my initial downpayment was $15K. But it's not going anywhere I love the car.

Crazy people esp when the value of the car isn't 22K I'd hate to get upside down in a used car.

Sounded like a good deal to me, around where I live I have never seen any F-bodys with that low miles for anything under 22k
