No thanks, not anymore..... My friend just got Flowtech LT's and a ORY installed on his '98 A4 Trans Am. He floored it down the road before he got to my house and i was like DUDE WOW....... Then he gets there and we go for a ride. It sounds bad....its leaking oil like a **** (so far these can be fixed). The main thing was that it lost alot of its bottom end, and only picked up a bit in the top. My catback/lid T/A beat him. Also, he had LM/FIPK. I dont get it.....that car used to lite em up off of throttle from a stop, and give a good chirp on the 1-2, but nothing anymore. Also, there was no tune, but i cant see it helping out that much. Cant say i am really crazy about LT's that way i used to be.

He needs a tune. I gained very little with the long tubes but when I got a tune/even with just a maft the gains in power are all over. He is probably running pig rich.

check the adapter right above the oil fitler for the oil leak. make sure it is on the right way. had the same thing happen to a guy around here and that is what it was. but yeah a tune will help but I waited until i finished the cam and other bolt ons b/c a tune is anywhere from 400 on up so I just waited to tune it. just my .02

Most people who dyno tune charge like $400-$500 for the first tune then like $100 for an updated tune so if the car is running that much slower I think he should go for a tune.

yeah i told him get it tuned and he was like bwaa no thanks. He just got this car and had it for like a month and now he thinks hes the LS1 god....i swear its so annoying. Hes only 19, i try to tell him certain things and he dont listen. He tried saying that the smoke burning off was the ceramic coating......i was like its blue and smells like oil, plus when he left i said to my other friend garuntee theres some oil on the ground. Sure enough, there was a couple big blotches. He alright and all, but he dont wanna hear it.....it his word or no word.
in the face so he doesn't have such a big ego. Just tell him it's for his own good

^ Exactly. Tons of people put on LT headers and a nice gain is noticed, both from SOTP and actual figures at the track, without tuning.
I'll almost guarantee they weren't put on correctly.

beat him with a stick. get him on the ground...and wipe that oil up with his face. im 19, so please know that not all 19 year olds are like that. why flowtech, flowtech is (IMHO) ****.

He got Flowtechs b/c someone realised they are crap before they went onto his car and sold them to my friend. He said he sold his Z and thats why he is selling them. I was like No dude its b/c you saw these headers and saw that they suck.i feel bad for him cause now his car is gonna die with that much oil loss, and him not caring.
HA watch....i bet with his car loosing all that oil and him abusing it bad, itll run forever. While someone else, who babies there car and uses the best of the best for EVERYTHING, will probably have more problems.
