would it be safe to do the FRA mod on a K&N FIPK?

yeah, i dont think it would do much good, there's no way the air can increase in pressure like it would in a stock or stock+lid setup. I wouldn't worry about it. Plus, ram air is a debated issue, never really seen too many people make anything noticable from it...

yeah, our "ram air" systems really don't ram much, there's a certain amount of pressure required before a ram effect actually begins... our RA system would be better descirbed as CAI (cold air intake).

FRA isn't going to pressurize anything, it's going to get cooler air into the intake faster. If you ever run a scanner on a car with a stock airbox and a FRA modded one you'll see the IAT readings drop quicker on the FRA. And it works, I've droped a tenth off both of my cars (`99 SS A4 and `02 SS M6).

NOW, on a FIPK I don't think it would be worth the effort, plus you have to cut your metal cover (that replaced the lower airbox).

Get a Lid the the SSRA or the FTRA.,

I don't see what the point would be by doing the FRA mod if you have the FIPK. I would not spend the time doing the FRA mod.

i would suggest a lid with bgra if you have a ws6, if you have a camaro go with lid and ssra or ftra
